My son has a baseball game at 645. I’ll be away at that time.

Nope. I’ll just wait for you to release him

Why would I release him when I have over $26 mil in cap space?

The Redskins offer their 2nd round pick (46) and Case Keenum for Rosen.

To further extrapolate, the Jets have $26 mil in cap room and Lee is making under $2 mil in salary.  He is in the final year of his rookie deal and they won't pick up the 5th year option now that they have Mosley.  There's really no logic to releasing him for a small cap savings they really have no use for this year when they can get a comp pick for him next year.  If he was cut, he's subject to waivers and there's no guarantee the Bengals even get a chance to claim him.

For our purposes, Wilson is off the board already and he was the last real shot at a quality starting LB.

I’ve just seen enough out there that suggests the jets might cut him if they can’t trade him. If he was such a quality starter why sign Mosley to such big money?

I’d give up a 6th for him if I’m the bengals but I wouldn’t want to see them make the trade you proposed

This is interesting and I'll allow time for the Zona GM reply; as it was proposed before the deadline. Hoof and Zoo please continue to monitor and rule if necessary

Pretty much any player that has trade rumors surrounding them also has cut speculation surrounding them . The Jets would have no depth behind Mosley and Williamson if they got rid of Lee, so it's highly unlikely.

Lee had a PED suspension last year, which is a big reason the Jets want to move on.  He had a 72 PFF rating last year, which is a quality starter.  The Jets made a big solspl in FA because they had a ton of cap room and are bringing in a new coach.

Edit:Just saw we're past the trade deadline. For BenZoo's planning, as the Jets GM, Lee won't be cut for the purposes of this mock for the reasons outlined above, so he shouldn't plan his draft strategy with the notion Lee will be available later.

I didn't let let lees status affect my draft strategy.  If he's aquired later somehow so be it.
