There wasn't a tackle in this draft that's a day one starter. Hart gives them 1-2 years to develop someone. And, if I remember right, they can dump Hart after next season and not lose a lot.

I know one person who is thrilled with our pick- Andy Dalton. Didn’t pick his replacement and got him more time to throw.

There was no way to know that their OT1 would be available. They needed depth, regardless. Without Hart, they'd be one injury away from starting a 7th round pick who spent last year on IR.
