They shorted themselves when they traded down with Minnesota. Eleanor wanted lock. They screwed us twice

Smith seems limited to a move only TE. Doesn’t have the size to stay inline.

So far I have checked Walter, Yahoo, draftblaster, cbssports and they all say Round 2.

I hope we use all the sixth rounders on a bunch of 2020 fifth round picks. If we do that 4x more times, we will own the first round in 2024, lol.

Yes copying them is a bad move. Man I swear we have the dumbest fan base in the NFL.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Or fleeced then at all. The Broncos got more trade value than the Bengals while drafting a premium position.

Exactly....Not smart, they KNEW Denver wanted Lock and should have made them pay more to get a QB. 3rd and 4th or no deal.

That almost sounds like the situation he could have been in here.

From OurLads scouting services:

Irv Smith Jr.
TE Alabama [Image: FBS_AL.gif]
HT: 6023v |  WT: 242v |  40: 4.63v

Junior entry and one year starter from New Orleans, LA. The son of former first round selection and Notre Dame All-America Irv Smith Sr. The athletic pass catcher came into his own the last part of his junior year demonstrating speed down the seam and explosiveness as a blocker. An ascending player who projects as a match-up problem for safeties and linebackers. Set a school record with seven touchdown receptions at the tight end position. He also averaged 16.1 yards per catch in 2018. Second-team All-America as well as earning a spot on the All-SEC second team. A multiple alignment tight end that lines up in the slot, in the backfield, as well as inline. Aggressive on 50/50 balls, snatching the ball out of the air at the high point. Strong run after catch ability. Blocks well on the perimeter.

The Broncos would have just waited a couple picks and stayed ahead of Miami. The Bengals weren't going to fleece anyone for that 42nd pick.
