It's 3-3 top of 7th, no outs. This will be a which bullpen gets the job done game.

Now 4-3 Reds at 7th Inning Stretch.

Farmer gets an extra life on what should have been the last out of the inning and him and Lorenzen get RBI singles making it a 6-3 lead in the 8th.

Come on Iggy, close out the game. Reds need this series badly. Brew Crew lost. This will help.

That's a nice Win. Reds now 7-3 against 1st place Cubs per announcers. Reds gain a game on 1st place and stay in this thing.

Well we've got Disco going against Mills and he doesn't have a lot of ML experience. Good game to win it appears and we need it bad !

Disco will have to have his best outing of the year for the Reds to have a chance today against the Cubs. Make it so!

Perfect example of how much luck plays in baseball games.

Reds had a horrible record in one run games which generally indicates that they have been unlucky.  That break Farmer got was HUGE and it ended up winning the game.

This is a game to watch if you can tonight, regardless of what is on other channels you may also like. This is a game to have on at the start. BECAUSE : Cubs start a minor league pitcher never in majors as Reds start Disco who of last month has pitched in upper 90's and been one of the better starters in baseball. It is clear pitching coach guru Johnson is developing him as he has many others over the years. ALSO BECAUSE : A Reds win could put them only 4 and 1/2 games out of 1st Place. AND ALSO : A Reds win will make them 8-3 against Cubs now in 1st Place. Such a Division record against a good team as Cubs is as if Bengals would go 2-0 against Steelers and 8-3 would increase Reds chances in 2019 greatly.

So this will be a game to have on at the start. You can be sure Cubs don't want to fall to 8-3 against the Reds. Still, if Reds can get after this rookie in his first ever game, and if Disco is on his game as he has been, the Reds have a very good chance to climb closer to FIRST PLACE. .....GO REDS

OK, Reds announcers change. Last night they said Cubs pitcher 1st game, tonight they say his 1st game in Majors this year. Reds put up 3 runs in 1st inning on him as they were hitting the ball DEEP. Welcome to the Majors Cubby.

The Reds got after the minor league pitcher in 1st inning but no runs 2nd, 3rd, 4th. However he is up to 60 pitches going into 5th against Reds best hitters. Reds need Disco to hold them at 3-2 as Cubs trying not to fall to 8-3 against Reds. Reds could get after this pitcher in 5th. Get the minor league guys pitch count up over 70, he could start feeling the majors get to him.

Well, that's not good. After 5 he is up to 71 pitches, but it's 3-2 bottom of 5th. The guy came back to keep Cubs in this. It will become a regular old bullpen game, unless Disco gets chased early. Cubs will fight hard to avoid 3-8 against Reds. This will be a battle.

Good, Disco made it past 5, still 3-2.

7th inning stretch. Reds never chased the minor league guy after getting 3 in 1st. Cubs came back. Anybody's game 3 to 3. This will be a bullpen win or loss now. Cubs fighting hard not to go 3-8 to Reds. Reds fighting hard to stay close to 1st Place and move closer. Both fighting for 1st Place.

Still 3-3 Extra Innings bottom of 10th. I'm concerned for Farmer who is close to concussion on fouls balls off his mask, but Reds other catchers injured. Also Iglesias pitching 3rd game in a row and now over 20 pitches.

Home Run Cubs....don't blame Iglesias, these guys can't pitch every night and not this many pitches. Reds bats were awful after 1st inning.

Reds better come up with more than Farmer at catcher. One is not enough. Who they got in minors ???

This game had heartbreak written all over it. 1 step forward and 2 steps back. There’s no use to buy, they cannot gain anything without handling it back with a big bow on it. The team has advanced from horrendous to mediocre. The whole idea of the rebuild was to be horrendous for a couple of years and skip mediocrity and be a good team. The botch rebuild yielded 4 years of being horrendous and they are still mediocre. They may as well have went for mediocrity and skipped the horrendous rebuild part. Oh well.... it’s frustrating!

There is little time between games. Last nights game went late into extra innings. Today is a day game 2 O'Clock Ohio time. That gave them time to shower, change clothes, leave park, go eat, go sleep, get up, eat, go back to Wrigley for batting practice and warm ups for game.

I am concerned about Farmer who NFL would have on concussion watch. The first ball that hit him in catcher face mask rocked his head bad. The second one was worse as he went to the ground. Team medics came out to give him quick concussion test. In NFL he would have had to leave game. Reds other 2 catchers injured, so he stayed in. All Reds catchers are banged up, 1 on IL and 2 pretty beat up.

Also they shouldn't pitch Iglesias today because it would be 4 straight games and you just don't do that and burn out their arms. Lorenzen also had a workout last night going into this fast day game. The hope is All-Star Sonny Gray goes deep into the game.

So Reds are 7-4 against Cubs. A win before 6 O'Clock News and they go 8-4 on Cubs and in series play are 4-0 against Cubs in 2019. Plus there is the fact they are close to First Place in July and Cubs in First Place. Reds can gain a game with a win before leaving Chi-Town.

GO REDS. There was no night life last night, as Reds right back on the field warming up 12 hours later. I know from tool shop days of working 12 hour days. Reds will feel like they just left the park and got little rest as right back in the park. Rested is Sonny Gray, who could help Reds huge with a good game going into late innings. No day for Bell to get cute taking him out early if he is pitching well. If Gray can go 7, that would help a tired bullpen. That is THE KEY to today's game, All-Star Sonny Gray, because rest of pitchers don't have much gas left in the tank today.

Hey, if Reds WIN today they are 4-0 in series play against Cubs and near First Place. That should stop the gloom and doom and have everybody HAPPY.
