What I have been watching for is system player vs skill.  I wonder how Tua would do in a different system?  This is why I am skeptical regarding Herbert as he may be a product of the system and would need similar system at the next level to succeed.  What excites me about Burrow, he has been in two systems at the collegiate level.

I worry a little less about our system.  I look at Goff and how bad he was under Fisher and the vast improvement he made in the Rams system.  It makes me think that getting a guy like Herbert, Tua or even Jordon Love, Burrow or Eason and we could get good QB play immediately.

IF, we get a top 2-3 pick, I can't see any way they don't go QB.

My goodness, Burrow is lightening it up against Vanderbilt. He has nearly 250 yards, with 86% completion and it's only the second freaking quarter....

The bengals need another quarterback like they need a hole in their head. They keep picking 1st round Qb’s , running backs, and receivers, stop the insanity, and start drafting lineman that can run block and linebackers who can stay in the gap and tackle people. That’s why this team has gotten any better since mike brown took over, they always want the the shiny nickel, it doesn’t work that way. Without the horses in the trenches, you cannot win In this league.

They haven't picked a first round QB since Carson Palmer in 2003, and they haven't picked a first round RB since Chris Perry in 2004.  In the last twenty years, they've taken three WRs in the first round.  Let's not pretend this is a serious issue.

My thought process is this.  If you're picking top 5, you take a quarterback because you don't know if you'll be picking that high again.  People seem to forget that we still have Dalton for one more year, and we have Finely/Dolegala.  Whether people want to admit it or not, it's going to take this team a few years to be competitive again.  If your QB of the future is there, take him NOW while you're able to.

You take the best player available or trade for more picks. Drafting a QB to just Draft a QB isn't smart. You can always move back into the late first to draft a QB.

If Trevor Lawrence is there you take him.  Since he will not be, I think if Tua or Burrow is there you take him unless the FO thinks Burrow will be there later in the round are early round 2.  Dalton will have two more years then he is gone.  Taylor will want his guy and although I think Finley is good, not sure how good.

1.) Lawrence won't be available until 2021
2.) Dalton is probably gone after this season. I imagine we will trade him for a 4th or 3rd Rd pick.
3.)Hurts, Fromm, and Burrow will be late first/early 2nd type prospects.

I am not a Fromm fan but Hurts and Burrow in round 2 would be great.  Take either Chase Young or BPA at OT/guard/backer in round 1.  I also think they ought to look at another CB.  I know fans would freak but Dre is not the answer and Dennard has been injured and I doubt he signs another extension..

To me it's between Andrew Thomas from Georgia and Isaiah Simmons from  Clemson.

I thought Simmons plays some backer...if he played safety, he would be Fulcher like in size 6'4" 230.

He plays everywhere; he is the best Defensive Back prospect (my opinion) since Sean Taylor and I don't say that lightly.

At the pace Burrow is going, why would you have him rated late 1st/early 2nd?  So far this season he's looked like a top 10 QB.  I've seen teams make worse reaches at the position.

Doesn't seem like a unique talent plus plays on a loaded team.

Every time I watch Herbert I just come away with a “meh” reaction. Not a fan of his.

Pat Kirwan mentioned him yesterday. Said he watched the complete game just to focus on him. Early impressions are he is reminded of Daniel Jones.
