Yeah but it's only been a small Sample size.

We have only kept 2 QB's on active 53 man most of time. I see our backup to AD, Finley will be OK in year one. Then the other rookie to the PS
2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

It's really hard to say. Reports are Finley does terrible in practice and doing good against 3's and 4's may not be enough to keep him as the backup.

This is kinda a tough one. He still should have caught it. So who knows what they call here.

So they went with effect over the actual rule. Interesting

He was only targeted three times. One he was speared on, one had the complete nonsense pick play call and he caught the third. Blocking wise he has been good.

MB was around Paul Brown for years and has been a terrible GM.
Paul was a football savant. Mike is a lawyer.

Which totally invalidates the entire point of challenges, which to get the exact rules to be followed.

Yes...without him we might not have had our whopping 1.8 yards per carry so far.

Just because ZT worked with McVay doesn't mean he'll be some genius too.

Look at the run plays - weirdly he was used more in pass blocking. Our run issue is MUCH more that we got zero push inside.

You may very well be right but it's too soon to tell.

When was the last time Bengals drafted a 4th round QB and cut him? It would very risky to try and get him to the PS, he was touted as a 2nd round pick by many. Many teams keep 3 Qb's anyway so likely we lose him if not on 53 man roster.

Indeed. McVay also got to sign and trade for a bunch of talented players.
ZT got Webb, Wynn, Jerry, Miller, and guys like that.
Totally different commitments to winning from their owners.

Just to keep things in perspective during training camp first team defense has showed up the first team offense most of spring training.

I'm not saying they'll cut him. I'm just saying this is the Bengals we are talking about. They're unpredictable. Maybe they keep 3 QB's?

Looks like a typical preseason game, not going to think too much about it!
