Jose De Leon acquired in Trade
#1
From what I know, De Leon does not have a lot of major league experience but has good metric data and potential. He has a 3.51 ERA and went through TJ surgery in 2018. He was injured in 2017 as well. Could help. It is a player to be named.

Doug Gray has a nice article on De Leon. I think the trade has low risk; high reward.

The starters are fine as a whole, gotta build up that 'pen. Let's hope he works out.

Maybe our driveline dude can help him get some of that heat back and maybe, just maybe watching Castillo will help him improve his changeup.. I like this trade so far..

As long as player to be named later is nobody good like one of our young outfielders, OK.

Tommy John surgery and injured last 2 years. Don't get your hopes up. I remember one season Reds brought nothing but Tommy John surgery pitchers to camp thinking a few of the bunch might work out on The Cheap. They didn't and that was a Long Losing season.

Somebody said it right. This is a Low Risk move. We get a player injured last 2 years. I hope player to be named later is CASH under the table as it often is.

The Reds just traded O’Grady to TB for a player to be named later. So, we still owe them a PTBN and they owe us a PTBN. Why not just have the trade be O’Grady for De Leon?

I am surprised they let O' Grady go.

Most PTBN trades have an agreed upon "one of these three to five guys" pool of players to choose from. I'm thinking that O'Grady was above the Jose DeLeon/recovery from surgery player pool.

Those were separate trades so I suspect they'll just swap a couple minor league players at some point..Who knows..maybe the Reds will win out,  maybe not. Watch O'G go and win the ROY award and knock out 60 HRs..
