I've been going through scouting reports on the guy as they come out and I've seen comparisons to Andy Dalton, Derek Carr and Mitch Trubisky. I've watched the guy play and he looks incredible but for scouts to be drawing these conclusions is a bit concerning.
The only concern I have is the sample size. That said, what he's put out there this year sure looks good. If you go QB this draft, I don't see how he isn't the guy.

Hell, I believe Fred, Wyche, Luvnit. Shake, Crusader,..... are about to tell you to pump the brakes on the Andy defense.
Yeah, my opinion is that if Dalton ever plays well again for a season, it won't be in Cincinnati. I think both sides of the coin are due a fresh start.

Thanks for clearing that up, Rube.
Did I say that? I said name me the last great QB who went 2-16 over 18 games after their first 5 seasons. You failed to do that. Nice try though toasty.

Archie Manning went 1-15 in 1980 and then started off 1981 at 1-7...this was his 10th and 11th years in the league....that is 2-22 and was 2-16 at one point.... Not a GREAT QB but right in the mold of Andy Dalton....

Fair comparison. Also note, it appears he didn't win another game as a starter after that 81 season.

You see... I wasn't actually talking about you. I was talking about Nicomo and some of the rest, you know who they are.
The point I am making is this:
Dalton with weapons and a good supporting cast can do everything that Burrow can do. Some of the replies about bringing Burrow in are "Yeah you have to build around him". That is no different than what we have with Dalton. Except that Burrows is younger.
There are some though, that actually hate Dalton, not as a person, but they don't like him as player at all. You seem to be one of them, but you do it in a way that isn't entitled or dismissive. Your post is more to pick on those that defend Andy at all cost, much like it may seem I am doing. Does Dalton deserve criticism? Yeah... why not. To say that Dalton didn't play well is one thing... to claim he sucks and that our records since 2015 are his fault is ludicrous.
So those posters that have been waiting for this slump to go after Andy and most of it is unfair.
Bring up Mixon on the other hand and his fanboys, who throw out his stats (while ignoring Dalton's), go crazy. They will say his lack of production is due to the OLine... this same OLine that Dalton has? HMMM.... So that is it? Only the OLine? Pretty much.
So I point out the OLine doesn't block well for Dalton and I am "giving excuses".
Mixon is sick, and that is OK. Dalton is sick and there is no excuse.
Now on to Mixon... I, like many, hated the pick. Yes the video is horrid and no I don't except that he was "Young and dumb", many young and dumb men don't punch women the way he did. Glad that he has "stayed out of trouble" but really the is such a weak defense of the man. However I was told by his supporters that we got a steal with him. He was gonna be AP all over again. Emmitt Smith better watch out because Mixon is coming...
3 seasons in and his stats are no better than any other RB in the league. For a guy that did what he did and to get drafted and have the opportunities that he has the defense on drafting him was that he was gonna light the league up and be phenomenal. He missed on that mark. So while I was hoping that this POS person would benefit the team, even though I still don't think he should be playing, I have been let down on his playing. We have had RBs run for more than 1168 on this team and I am not satisfied with his production.

The difference between 2-16 and 4-14 is meaningless.

Dalton has shown what he has, clearly he doesn't have upside like Burrow has.
Mixon has upside regardless if you liked the pick or not. God don't care who you were, he cares who you are and Mixon has
been a stellar man since becoming a Bengal and has even become a leader for us. Mixon's stats are no better than any other
RB in the league? Crazy talk.
I was a Dalton supporter, but it is time to move on to Burrow who has great pocket awareness unlike Dalton and is way more
accurate and as you note, much younger.
Either way, the O-line needs to get much better and if it does, both Mixon and Burrow should do well here.

Really? You can't name any other RBs in the league that can rush for 1168? That is crazy talk.

I also like Burrow's height at 6 foot 4 versus Dalton at 6 foot 2.
Burrow seems to take a commanding view of the Field.

Of course I can, but I am not going to say that Mixon is the worst RB in the league stats wise either like you are insinuating.

Yeah, would be nice to have a QB that can throw over the Line and not get balls knocked down so often.

Dalton does not get passes knocked down at the line of scrimmage any more often than the average NFL QB.
This is just a popular message board myth.

Simply stated - no. Dalton has some of the worst pocket presence I have seen in a starter in recent years. His penchant for throwing the ball away or panicking in the pocket is a huge issue. Now, it's only college, but Burrow has shown an innate pocket presence against the best competition he's faced. He's more athletic and can make plays with his legs.
Just watch the Georgia game. some of the plays he made running the ball and running by Georgias linebackers and safeties should tell you something.
When people say you need to build around Burrow, it's not that we need skill guys, we need O-linemen to protect the investment made at #1 overall. No different that ANY team.

Let's remember who is doing the drafting here: Mike Brown, Duke Tobin, and possibly Zac Taylor. In their minds, 2019 might NOT have been "Bungle for Burrow" but rather "Tank for Tua," "Junk for Justin," or "Joke for Jalen." It might even be "Choke for Chase."
Based on recent draft strategy by the Bengals' Front Office, I'm ready for anything to come out of Roger Goodell's mouth on April 23 in Las Vegas where the Bengals are concerned.

Height has very little to do with batted balls.
