Is Lindor still a possibility?
#1
Jim Bowden recently put out his bold predictions for 2020. One of those predictions was that the Reds will acquire Lindor for Senzel, India, Mahle and a PTBNL. https://www.si.com/mlb/indians/news/are-the-reds-at-the-front-of-the-list-to-make-a-deal-for-lindor-one-former-gm-sees-a-deal-coming

There's also a good read on CBSSports about Senzel and a possible Lindor deal. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/nick-senzel-could-be-the-key-to-the-rest-of-reds-offseason-and-the-centerpiece-of-a-potential-lindor-deal/

What do you think? Do the Reds eventually get Lindor?

Personally that's too much for him unless it comes with a longer term deal than a year rental.. But hey! They signed Matt Davidson to a ML deal which is basically the same as Dietrich 2.0. Lots of power..low BA..

An infield of Suarez, Lindor, Moose, Votto, with Galvis as a swing player sounds great ! If Votto comes out struggling bad as has been his M.O. to start the last 3 seasons you can move Moose to 1st and insert Galvis at 2nd.

Then if Aquino continues on his trajectory with Akiyama and Winker, Ervin in the outfield it's a pretty stout lineup.

I'm a little leery of Senzel's health and it wouldn't kill me to see him go.

As I've stated several times I believe the window for small market teams is so short. They need to push the buttons....NOW

I could live giving up Senzel, India, and Mahle for him. I think they would sign him to long-term contract.

Also, hearing Reds may sign Ozuna to a 5 year 100 mil contract. Yikes. I Don't know about Ozuna. Ozuna will be quite expensive.

I'm at the point where I don't see a Lindor deal happening. They were allegedly wanting May and Lux plus another top prospect from LA. The Reds can't offer them anything like that. Even if they could, they shouldn't. Not for 2 years of Lindor.

I'd offer Senzel, Santillan, and India. Nothing more. The tribe can keep on playing hardball. Let them continue selling off top MLB talent for peanuts like they did in the Kluber deal when they held out too long.

I'd probably make calls to Houston and Colorado to see if they'd entertain Correa or Story if a shortstop is what they want. They'd be major upgrades at a likely lower cost.

Indians are saying no trade deal reached for Lindor. Will keep him the start of the season. Looks like the Reds are going with Galvis.

Damn I still hope they can land another bat, in OF is fine. I just don't trust Votto can rebound.

I think Indians are posturing.  But they may end up keeping him.  If that is the case, they need a CF or Catcher for another bat.  I think they may bring of Tyler mid-late season if the catchers are doing poorly.

Reds are more competitive but still need another reliever and another bat.
