Bring him in, sounds like a Bengal signing but at least Clay is still playing well.

Always liked Clay Matthews.

My only worry is that really he's only an edge rusher at this point. If you can get him cheap, sure, but I'm not sure if he really fills a big need. I'd be more apt to go after a more traditional linebacker.

Marvin called and said hell yes. Isn't he really more of a DE than a LB?

Haven't we been down the "over the hill superstar" road enough times, especially at LB?

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

He is a 3-4 OLB. That's what he played in Green Bay for basically his whole career. Wouldn't be a bad signing as a veteran leader that plays maybe half the snaps. But his best days are most likely behind him. He tackled well in GB, but his pass rushing is what made his career.

Well we are a 3-4 hybrid now, just seems like an old signing for us and he will be falling off soon.

Loved Dansby in his prime too, but we all saw how that worked out.

Yep. He probably doesn't have much left. If it were like a 3mil a year deal or less.. Wouldn't hurt.. As a depth signing with some situational pass rushing ability, it could work out alright. But I'm with you, wouldn't make me feel like the problem is solved either. I'd still like to see an OLB drafted.

Maybe once or twice...or ten or twelve times.

Didn't Green Bay move him inside his last year there?

You might want to re-read those stats, as those weren't his numbers.  His numbers were "alright", but nothing close to his peak years of production.

Veteran leadership and football IQ are enough for me to get onboard with signing him. Yes he doesnt fill our need for a LB who can cover if asked to, but he's still got a lot to offer in other areas.

The Ravens will sign him right before TC and he'll have 14 sacks and go to the PB.
