Joe speaks out

If you mean I will never understand someone who has a great life because of the country he lives in and hates it...

You are correct. I will never understand this.

And I am not a racist cause of this, I don't see color. I see a guy disrespecting our fallen and living soldiers.

Not cool to me, never will be.

If everyone were like you then Kaepernick never would have even thought he needed to kneel.  Alas, it just ain't so.

Correct. There are some out there that are strange this way. I don't understand racism, never have.

A lot of black cops kill black people too though and black on black crime happens all the time.

So it is not always color.

If only you could have explained to Kaepernick that black people kill black people he may still have a career right now.

i know as much about being an oppressed black person in America as Kaep does about a Veteran who watches folks refuse to honor the flag.

WhoDey2 This post is possibly the truest string of words to come out of these boards in years.

Yeah, all those people in line at the concession stands smokin' and jokin' during the National Anthem really chaps my ass.  Jerry Jones runnin' his damn mouth and not taking his hat off during the National Anthem is pretty much the epitome of hypocrisy. Not to mention the military paying teams for Military Appreciation night. LOL
Drew Brees doubled-down on the kneeling is disrespecting the flag sentiment, so the Saints might be able to rake in all the folks who are sick of left-wing QBs, at least.

I guess...then again, if we went full communist and those entitled crybaby athletes made the same money that us hard-working blue-collar types and Army folks make doing our REAL JOBS that don't involve playing a KIDS GAME make, well I wouldn't complain.

Kaepernick is rich and so many people who aren't him aren't rich. Honestly, I can't help but feel like any system that can let that happen may not be infallible, you know?

It is like they want to get credit for being on the right side without actually having to do anything.

I guess they feel like they are doing something just because they have lots of fans, and it is good to know he cares, but people with millions of dollars should do more than just make posts like this.  Hopefully he will in the future.  All of this is new to him.  I am not even sure if he has signed his contract and gotten paid yet.

You almost wish? You either do or you don't, but either way Joe Burrow is perfectly entitled to his opinion and his place in the world is not that of some knuckle dragging schmuck who thinks his shit and his shit alone is the greatest aroma ever smelled by man or beast.
Joe Burrow works with and around black men every day with a very unique opportunity to be an influence for great things besides just throwing a damned ball for millions of dollars. I suspect he's witnessed first hand plenty of the injustice inflicted upon black people and being from Southern Ohio has seen more than his share of bigotry on and off the field.
And so why should Joe Burrow simply just shut up and pretend that the only use he could possibly be to our society is to throw a ball and entertain us?
So what you're saying in essence is athletes are just dumb jocks who should have no opinions on the matters that affect each and everyone of us especially if the people they work with just happen to represent much of the injustices inflicted on their own lives and the lives of their own families?

I thought Tua was the lefty in this draft?

At any rate, athletes and celebrities need to just shut up and do their jobs...unless they agree with me in which case it's their duty to spread this country-saving wisdom that we possess.

WhoDey2 Very true. This has a lot to do with leftist leaning liberal professors cramming their liberal ideals down our young peoples throats.

Lighten up, college is the time to experiment with having stuff crammed down your throat. Plus, what are these young people wearing when these professors start "forcing" their liberal ideas on them? If a college kid is wearing tie dye or something then I'd say they are putting it out there that they are receptive to these ideas. I'm just saying.

Side note, Goodell himself is saying he was wrong about the whole Kaepernick thing so it looks like we might need to bail out Vince McMahon to get the XFL back up and running if we want real America-loving football any time soon.

Yeah I can already tell I'm not going to get to watch this year.  See you all next year.
