ESPN Trenches Win Rate Stats

ESPN out with some new metrics for pass rush/block and rush stop/block win rates.

Surprisingly the Bengals aren’t the worst in the league at blocking, really bad, but not the worst.

They are next to last in the league in pass rush.

The only player that made any of the top 10 lists was Hubbard and run stop win rate.

Through two games these are the win rate numbers.

The only Bengals player to make a top 10 list is Sam Hubbard. He ranked 6th in Run Stop Win Rate as an Edge Defender.

Run Stop - 28% Ranked 22nd
Pass Blocking - 54% Ranked 21st
Run Blocking - 70% Ranked 17th

Wish we had GB’s oline or coach. Their guys are all over the top 10 lists.

The run blocking rate is kinda hard to take considering they are 26th in the league and are averaging 3.7 YPC.

The Pass Blocking they are second in the league in pressures I know they #1 in pass attempts but alot of them are coming out quick. I wonder what the time to throw number is...

Edit: Time to Throw is 2.64 seconds.

Out of the top 35 rushers, Joe Mixon is tied for dead in yards per carry (3.3).

Out of the top 50 rushers, he's tied for 2nd to last in yards per carry.

If these "win rate stats" carry any weight whatsoever, then these numbers have more to do with him than the run blocking.

Pratt seems pretty high at 35.3.  This dude is nick vigil part 2.  Id give him a 0.0.

You mean the guy leading the team in solo tackles? What’s that say about the rest of the defense if you think Pratt is the worst?

Dunlap over the last couple years is notorious for a) not showing up vs AFC North teams
And b) playing well.in a 2nd half of a season when the season is essentially over.

PFF puts him in a good light but my eyes tell me when we need him the most
He does the least.

They have all played pretty awful, save for Bynes in game one.

Frank Ragnow 5th in Pass Blocking Win% among Cs.
Looked at PFF and he is rated at 89.1 in 2020, and has gotten better every year.

Could have had him instead of Billy Price and 1.5 years of Cordy Glenn not wanting to play football. A lot of people wanted Ragnow, too, so nobody can claim hindsight. It hurts.

Ragnow was gone before the Bengals were on the board, so we could not have had him instead of Price.

This is the danger of trading back. What an all round terrible deal that ended up being for us. We received an often injured malcontent, and drafted a total bust. Meanwhile the guy we really wanted is playing great.

Lot of revisionist history going on here lately. AJ apparently had “effort issues”, Dunlap always “lacked consistency”, etc.

Amazing those guys hold (or are about to in AJ’s case) a couple of franchise records with such glaring problems...

I was pushing for Frank Ragnow early, often, and more than most but trading that pick and getting Cordy Glenn was the smart move at the time. The Bengals had no tackles and Glenn had been one of the better tackles until his foot injury. Also they couldn't stop the Lions taking the first center 1 pick before the Bengals.

Did it work out no... but you have to give the front office some props for looking to make a moves to fix a problem. 

So yes I can claim you are using hindsight.
