Auden Tate-shoulder
#1
Tate is day to day with shoulder injury. Odds are he plays but who knows with the Bengals. Green is out today but expected to practice tomorrow.

Maybe AJ can get some targets if Tate is sidelined. Holy moly, send that sentence back a few years and watch the heads spin.

Auden Tate is averaging 2 targets a game. I don't think it will make that big of a difference for AJ.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

This might be Ross's opportunity to be active again.

Tate should be averaging 5 to 7 targets a game. He catches a pass.for a 1st down and then he's never targeted again.
Betcha if.that was him in instead of 5'8 178 lb Michael Thomas
Catching that pass that ball isnt knocked out Sunday.
ZT is total moron when it comes to everything about this offense.

ZT ain’t making the throws. Burrow throws it to the open man. Perhaps Auden isn’t getting ‘open’ in Joes mind.

That was just a fantastic defensive play by a fantastic defensive player who makes his bones doing that exact thing.

Tate was only on the field for 26 snaps. Thomas was on the field
For 33. I think Boyd had only 46.which just reaffirms how
Stupid ZT is regarding personel groupings.
I guess giving Thomas extra snaps really paid off didnt it Zac?

Stanley Morgan, who has been protected every week.

Ben Baby reported Tate was on the field for ST portion of practice, but not offensive portion, so it can’t be that bad.

Agree. Let Ross sell beers in the stands or something. Hell, at $10 a beer and a losing record, he might actually earn his contract worth.

ZT is not the one who is not throwing the ball to Tate.

That would be Joe Burrow.

Outside of broken coverage when you have ever seen Tate not blanketed by the DB? And don't try to tell me he makes the catch anyways because his career 49% catch rate says differently.

Some people watch different games I swear.

He should be, and if he is they should have him running a lot of motion and jet sweeps.  Force the defense to show what they are doing and slow down the pass rush just a bit.  He doesn't have to be handed the ball every time to make a difference, just a few.  When the Bengals have run sweeps with Boyd and Higgins, they have been fairly well blocked (did I just type that?) and they get a handful of yards.  Ross could make a big play here.

They need to see what they have in him and not give up on him just yet.  It isn't like any receiver not named Boyd or Higgins is generating any big plays or getting open.  AJ Green DEAD LAST IN THE LEAGUE in separation metrics.

Thomas is NOT 5'8, he's 6'1; where did that come from?
