I thought Ki Jana carter was a great pick. He was a beast coming out of Penn St, but injuries destroyed his career. Can't say that was a bad pick but was bad luck.
HOw many blown first round picks have the Bengals had over the years??

Why is this so complicated.
Players like Dre and Dennard are not Busts, nor is Big Daddy. Busts are top round players who legit cant hold a starting job for a season (Production or Injury both included) Billy Price John Ross Cederic Ogbeuhi Chris Perry Akili Smith Reinard Wilson Ki Jana Klingler 1st Rounders who Left a lot to be desired? Every team has these - Production/Injury both factoring in. Big Daddy Levi Jones Warrick Pollack Rivers Dennard Pretty easy to bucket these guys, IMO

Levi Jones should never be on a busts list ever. whatever point you’re trying to make.

How is Pollack on left alot to be desired due to injury while Ki-Jana who had a major knee injury that changed the way he was able to play is a bust?? Seems like the identical situation. Carter showed in the pre season what he was going to be then the Lions shit show turf claimed his knee. Guy couldn't change direction like he did prior to the injury and just physically was unable to be the back he once was. That is pure shit luck not a bust like a guy like Akili Smith who just sucked.

Bust versus absolutely disappointing for their draft position is a thing. Some players may not be bums, but from where they were drafted, you would hope for more. Bengals had a whole lot of those.

He did command a 1st and 3rd round pick in a trade, so he was miles ahead of guys like Ross who can't even be traded for a Wendy's double for Mikey boy. Kirkpatrick was a starting CB for years and the #17 pick. That's not bad. Dennard, same as Kirkpatrick. Dennard was a pretty good slot corner and still is. Andre Smith started for years and once he developed he was a solid RT. Andre was a better 1st round pick than Gresham, who isn't on your list and shouldn't be. But you forget to include Ogbuehi, David Verser, Chris Perry, Peter Warrick (one season over 800 yards, but miles better than Ross yet still very underwhelming for a top 5 pick) and Reinard Wilson (who managed 23 starts in 6 years on the team). |
