Please no more OSU OL draftees. I am big OSU fan, but after Price & Jordan, want no part of the OL players.

Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

Bengals shouldn't rely on him being there though.
I think they will try to sign a decent lineman in draft, but not out of question he might not drop to #5

After Price and Jordan I’m very wary of Ohio State linemen. Hopefully Sewell falls. Not counting on it.

Y’all saying no to an OL because of the school and prior busts I have a call holding on line one for you. Jake Fisher just wants to say hi.

I agree, analysis should be done on player by player basis. Before Herbert, people could point to Akili, Harrington and Mariota as examples for reasons why you shouldn’t touch Oregon QBs. His career is still young, but Herbert looks like a baller.
Even players that played with Sewell are struggling. Shane Lemieux is starting at G for the Giants and according to PFF, he is likely the worst starter at any position on any team. With over 500 snaps played, he has a 32 grade.

Yes, because Sewell comes from a program known for producing great olinemen.

Wait till FA to have a better idea. They really target a RT and good guard they can go get chase Pitts or Smith. I can’t not take Sewell at 5 overall right now.

I'm a huge fan of Davis, but 5 is just goofy.

A big thing to look at is coaching and also the type of prospect you're looking at.
Ohio State has had the same OL coach since '16. He's had a couple of highly touted busts in Elflein and Price that are similar in skill set and athletic ability to Davis. MJ is also a disappointment, but he was basically a guy being drafted for traits instead of being a polished player.
Oregon changed OL coaches in '18. Lemieux is a totally different kind of prospect than Sewell. He was an athletically limited G with a mean streak that got by by bullying and overpowering inferior competition. Now that he's facing NFL talent, he simply can't keep up. Sewell is a guy with ridiculous upside who is very raw. You're drafting him for his traits, not as a finished product.

Oh I know, I’m a huge Oregon fan. I wasn’t trying to sow an skepticism around Sewell. He is a freak and I believe he is the real deal. If he is there, that pick should take less than 10 seconds.

Only way i would pass on him if we actually sign 2 established Oline in FA...I don;t think we can afford to use #1 on Sewell if we have 2 big FAs coming in.. most likely that won't happen and if Sewell is there you draft him

It’s because FA hasn’t happened yet. You can’t not ignore the biggest weakness otherwise.
I still don’t see the Jets taking sewell

This Mock Draft database is pretty handy -- kind of a one stop shop for all major mocks:

I've heard we're supposed to be focusing on Oline in FA so you might get those 2 established signings. I'd still draft Sewell if he falls to us though (and I think he will). After all, with the Bengals history of injuries he probably wouldn't be ready to play year 1 anyways. I'd like to have enough depth to absorb some injuries and still have a great line.

Someone i coached with through the years said regardless draft a lineman with your 1st round pick even if you acquire couple in FA. Lineman get hurt more than WR/RBs... so you need more depth...plus that FA might only be signed for couple years... Not sure if I agree but he made valid points and actually has coached for a long time H.S . mostly

I could see Falcons take Parsons at #4 possible Sewell falling to us.. Sewell depends on what Jets do... i believe either Jets are the team that might take Chase or Smith and keep Donald, which I think Miami will take Sewell
