Saw a mock with us taking him in the 2nd today.

He is this years big ? because no one knows where he is going but he is projected from like 14 to the 3rd. He and nixon will be stories I’m sure.

Top of the second round I would guess, but this is weird year for DT rankings in that not many are ranked high.

He is a back end of the 1st guy. He really isn't a great pass rusher yet and was missing in action too often this year to be considered an elite prospect. In a better DL class, he is a 2nd round guy but with the weakness of this class on the DL, in general, a jump to the mid-1st may occur but I am not sold he is that guy to bank on.

I think playing at your best in the biggest games is an important trait to have. I had my eye on him in the NC game a lot as I wanted to see how he did. At times, he was dominant, at times he lost the battle. This is par for the course for most lineman on both sides. I think he is 1st round pick, but I did not see enough from him rushing the passer consistently. In some cases DL just hold the LOS on pass plays or even drop back, I did not see him do any of that, just bull rush on every play whether pass or run. My point is if a player due to scheme gets to dictate their assignment, they should get more sacks and more TFL plays. He was very good, I would not say great, but a definite 1st round pick and maybe as early as 15th but closer to 25. I think he would be a steal with our pick in round 2
I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

He has potential, but not enough production to give me confidence to take in Top 15. I'd be down for him at 38 for sure.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season Zac Taylor 2024: 3-5 so far. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive. Sorry for Party Rocking!

On top of that is his performance in the championship which usually helps to leave a final lasting impression. I’m always looking for ascending players in the draft, not guys that reached their max potential in college and I don’t think he’s reached anywhere near his full potential. When I say lack of production, I am specifically referring to multiple years of good production. He's been really good in 2020 (8 sacks) but only 2 sacks in 2019. Rd 2 is what I would consider as really good potential who is ascending but may only have one good season of production. But that's just me.

He was a red shirt freshman, third down pass rush specialist and was eventually starting by the end of the season. Ya know, I was wrong. Quinnen Williams was a Top 5 pick in 2019 after having just two seasons, of which were 2.0 sacks and 8.0 sacks just like Barmore. I thought he did better his first year at Alabama than he was. So maybe Barmore does go Top 15, even possibly Top 10.

In some of my many mock drafts I traded down from 5 to get Gregory Rousseau and then traded back up late in the first to get Christian Barmore.

I think playing at your best in the biggest games is an important trait to have. I think he played himself in to the first round, but not that early. He will likely be a really solid later first round pick for a team that has an extra first rounder. For whatever reason, DTs are just not as sexy as DEs. It's stupid, as the best player in the league is probably Aaron Donald. But he is a true three-down player and would be an absolute BEAST in the middle next to Reader. My dream would be that a team like Carolina goes nuts and offers us their 1st (#8) and 2nd for the #5 pick and we still get Chase and then get Barmore by trading that 2nd and our 3rd to get back in to Rd 1 if he was available somewhere around #20-25. Then, they could use their original 2nd rounder to draft Spencer Brown to play RT. A first two days of the draft with Chase, Barmore, and Brown? Hell, yes....please! |
