#41
Looks like Zeitler is going to Baltimore. 3yrs, 22mil.

22 over 3 seems like something in the Bengals price range so maybe they have their sights higher. At least that eliminates the Ravens from the Thuney race.

Zeitler gone, norwell gone, williams gone. Lets hope we have a plan in place as parts are coming off the board.

Free agency hasn't even started, and our free agent plan is already beginning to unravel.

Wow, that sounds reasonable.

The 16 Million in guaranteed is where he made it back. That is a really strong guarantee "sight unseen" for a 31-year-old guard. It is interesting because it does seem from what we have seen so far depressed overall values are being offset by higher than usual gurantees.

That's not a great sign, given our history with guaranteed money.

It'll be interesting to watch. The legal tampering period opens at noon so we may find out quickly what's on the table.

I think with the lower cap salaries won’t be as high as usual. Already seeing Mahomes restructure his contract right after signing it last year.

Our plan may be falling apart...doesn’t mean the team’s plan is

That may be our plan, but the Bengals plan maybe the Bengals just planned to re-sign Spain and draft a guy or two all along!  Ninja
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

If that's the case, then they better keep Lawson and WJIII haha. Don't let your good free agents go AND not sign any premier free agents either.

The Bengals seem to remain very reactionary, while the rest of the league has been proactive, having deals ready to be announced.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

The word flexibility has been used a lot by Tobin and Taylor. I do wonder if they can't get the OL pieces they want if they pivot back to a strong push on defense and then go heavy offensive line in the draft.

Just reported that Patriots are now making a push to retain Thuney. The guard market could get really ugly before noon.

They could, although one could argue that by the time you pivot back to go defense, you're basically in the B/C tier, and then how much are you really going to upgrade at that point?

The market for guards may already be depleted by the noon tampering period opening so they may start pivoting before lunch.

We don't know what they have.

I'm guessing they have their 'tire kicking boots' on. They're an hour in and i just hope their legs aren't too tired already.  Cool
