I read something like that a long time ago.  I believe it was in "A random walk down wall street."

Remind me again what every investment firm does?

Oh, yeah. They analyze trends and try to guess future performance based on past results. Ironic that a book on investing would provide a quote telling you to ignore statistics, trend analysis, and experience.

How many years in a row do we have to get zapped before we recognize the pattern?
Much like gravity, there is a point where repeating it stops being an experiment and becomes scientific law.

I imagine we'd all be a lot happier if we realize the season is a lot like a water slide. Exciting at times, chafing at others, and more likely to end in a splash of chlorine and urine than Gatorade.

So I guess rather than playing the games they should just award the Lombardi to the Patriots every season right?

Where do you see that? What a ridiculous interpretation.

My point was to not get your hopes up in the postseason when your team is led by a man with a lifetime 0% win rate in six tries. You should be totally excited about the upcoming season! Odds are we'll win somewhere between 4 and 11 games!

12-4 depending on his performance in key games.

I think we'll win at least 10 games due to an improved defense. I agree the schedule looks tough right now but it always seems to this time of year. Some of these teams in the AFC and NFC West may regress this year (SF, SD, KC, Denver). We also have Buffalo and Houston which are very winnable.
