Oh, yeah. They analyze trends and try to guess future performance based on past results. Ironic that a book on investing would provide a quote telling you to ignore statistics, trend analysis, and experience.
How many years in a row do we have to get zapped before we recognize the pattern?
Much like gravity, there is a point where repeating it stops being an experiment and becomes scientific law.

I imagine we'd all be a lot happier if we realize the season is a lot like a water slide. Exciting at times, chafing at others, and more likely to end in a splash of chlorine and urine than Gatorade.
