Bengals signing Eli Apple

Two signings on the very day that I re-upped my season tickets! Front office already putting my dollars to work.

You're welcome.

Must have been nose bleed seats with their response....

Thanks!

Now if someone would just buy some on the 50 yard line before Watkins is signed by Baltimore.

Hopefully he's matured as he got older. I do like seeing all this potential talent at corner. I've said it before, I would try to keep 7 at the position (and probably 26 on defense and 24 on offense, do we really need more than 3 RBs?). Or at the very least have a good competitive camp to see who makes the 6.

I remember on draft day that his Mom was really on him, even at the beginning of Giants training camp. Hope that's not a bad sign in regards to maturity issues.

I’ve seen some moaning and groaning about this pickup but I like the strategy of loading up on corners.

We saw far too much of sims, brown, and other culprits who didn’t deserve to be on an NFL field. Now our backups at least have the talent to not get completely humiliated every single play. If we have injuries again, I’m not as worried about the effects.

Solid depth as 5th CB. Maybe he can put it all together and over perform what he's done in the past

Depth signing, I'm good with it.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Hilarious South end zone.

I'm just a retired teacher, best I can do.  Some fat cat needs to step up.

I feel better about him than Sims. After all this time has gone by since his issues in NY, one would think he has grown up. Good depth signing.

Anyone got PFF on this guy? Since it’s the gospel and all...

He signed one year deal in Carolina in 2020 for 3 million I think, had injury issues and it did not work out well for Carolina.

I am guessing he was signed at a very low prove it deal with little to no guaranteed money.

If so, great add to compete in camp and see what he can do on and off the field with little to no risk. I also have a hunch Vonn Bell was involved and vouched for him.

I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

we got an apple but not an orange (i.e. a guard or WR)....looks like we maybe looking at draft to fill rest of need, more pass rushers, G, TE, WR

Jackson was also a 1st round pick and just got paid well. Do you have his PFF scores to compare to Apple who was probably paid peanuts in comparison?

Don't get this at all. He sucks, not sure why they aren't bringing Alexander back. He was clearly someone that should of been retained and is better than at least 2 of the cornerbacks we signed.

Alexander to Apple is like comparing apples to oranges

Yeah Bell spent a year with the dude. If he was a cancer, I'd think Bell would've said something.

As for his talent...he started all 15 games in 2019 for a very good NO defense, so how bad could he be?

Worth a shot, IMO. I just wish we were looking at interior linemen with a little more urgency.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.

will just be a back up. Talented obviously being a former top 10 pick and anything to not see LeShaun Sims on the field again
is a good move. Just hope Apple has his head on his shoulders now.

That was the same team with Ereck Flowers and Bobby Hart... and led by McAdoo.

That lockerroom was an unmitigated disaster.
