#1
Just announced - Giovani Bernard has been released.

https://www.bengals.com/news/bengals-release-giovani-bernard
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Didn't they have teams asking about a trade? Or was that proven wrong?

I think a straight up release is terrible. Hard for me not to feel cynical about this and feel they botched it.

oh my goodness I'm shocked.  Not really.  We all knew this was coming.

Gio was a company man and supported Zac but he can go to a winner now and focus on getting a ring.

Stupid. Unnecessary. Makes the team worse. Plus had teams calling for a trade.

God, let this be the last year of ZT and Duke.

Seems like the rumors of teams calling about a trade were exaggerated. I wouldn't mind bringing him back at a lower salary.

I'm with Goodberry on this
"Team with the 6th most cap space in the league asks one of their most loyal and best playmakers of the last 8 years to take a pay cut..."

Plus the guy was a damn good blocker. I wonder why he asked for his release? Rolleyes
Dumb move from a dumb organization.

His release is out of respect not disrespect. Trading him for 6th or 7th could be viewed as a slight. Plus, a straight release allows him more freedom to sign with another team.

Always liked Gio. Remember him from Hard Knocks looking out his window yelling "Who Dey".

This one hurts.

I agree with your last two sentences 100%.

However, if they respected him so much they wouldn't have insulted him with asking for a pay cut.  Again, protect Joe Burrow at all costs so lets release your best blocking back.  I tend not to be an over-reactor, but it really is tough to be a fan of this two-bit org.  I wonder if that money will actually go back to the roster.  Lolzzz.

I assumed this would happen when they re-signed Perine. Thought they might just be waiting to make sure Mixon was fully recovered.

Gio is one of the good guys....Im sure he will land a new gig pretty quickly.

I hope the team plans to do something positive with the money.

All hopes turn to next year

I don’t know if this is a good move or not, but I’m gonna miss Gio. Gave it his all every play and never complained.

If Gio had not been knocked out Bengals would have won that playoff game. Would have been him running out the clock instead of Hill.

I wish him the best. Total class act.

Mixon will be released before his contract is up to go towards Burrow's non-rookie deal. Also, the 4.1 mil money may go to Turner at Guard. Just a thought.
