Clemson is not short on 5star players they could have put in to replace him, so he definitely wasn’t as bad as some act like. I think at times he got lackadaisical like other guys on that team but he has a lot of talent, and he definitely has more upside inside at guard in the short run.
He has some maturity issues but from what I'm hearing Cincinnati Bengals has been his favorite NFL team. He may be able to play left guard because he can move.

The only positive.. i guess.. is he (Carman) was projected to go to the Chiefs on this 2nd round.

pinch. About as good of a pick as we could make, much more pro ready than Meinerz and the injury is being overstated by haters.
He is fine. Just what we needed in the 2nd or 3rd round. Wanted him in the 3rd but we added a couple picks...
A former Clemson player who played guard for nine years in nfl and who has watched every game this kid has played at Clemson says he will not be a good guard in nfl - yet we take him in second.

I think he projects well at guard. Good enough to protect the #1 pick the last two years. Hard to see him not finding a spot on our line.
I agree and I hope this scout is wrong. But it makes me curious what the scout is referring to and why he thinks this way.
Like I've said elsewhere, I'll be rooting for him to prove me wrong and will happily eat crow if he is a good player in Cincy.

Carman is gonna open up some holes for Mixon who is the one winning this Draft right now.
knowing this front office dont be shocked by a DL or LB in the 3rd round. They have all those 4th rounders for OL.

Funny thing, he was about to get the OL coach job in Tennessee when the Pruitt incident went down. Loses out on an SEC job and lands in the Sun Belt.

Still don't take away from Carman's game but damn. Makes even the most adamant Carman supporter go ugh.

Bengals ineptness replicating itself
Per a disgruntled poster on a Bengals forum. Seems legit.

Well I personally like Sample more than a lot of others on here, and just like I said when we drafted him, Carmen is on the team now so Im behind him and want him to be the best G we've ever had. He's a Bengal now
But I do wish Tevin Jenkins was a Bengal too....

Careful. The Sunshine Pumping Crash-Test Dummies in here will ostracize you (and by that they mean turning you into an actual ostrich) if you don’t celebrate every move the Bengs as pure brilliance, despite the decades and decades of evidence that they get shit wrong a hell of a lot more often than they get it right.
If you see something suspicious, say something suspicious.

.... I've been talking about Jackson Carman as a prospect since the 2020 draft.

Adding a pick while trading back and getting Carman is pretty sweet to me.
Yeah it's turned out well. I was just getting them the fear of 7 OL picks between 38 and us
