So who is our #4 WR

I’m sorry to put Erickson and Tate in the same sentence tells me ur medication don’t work. My lord people. If u think Tate is gonna get the same interest as Erickson u should not b near a football team.

Dude might get passed over with Chase being drafted, Thomas still retained, he ain't a KR/PR, new rooks/FAs getting looks.

Tate could be WR 4 but not a total lock.

Yes I did forget.... that’s from week two last year lol smh

-Going into the draft I predicted that we would select multiple WRs with at least one in the top 3 rounds.

-In Bengals offense the #3 WR is basically a starter and we often run 4 WR sets.

So I still see a big hole in our offense at the #4 WR position.  Are there any decent free agents still out there? Are there any likely to be released post draft?  I wouldn't count on an UDFA to contribute this year, but are there any decent ones out there we could sign for depth?

On the roster;
Tate
Thomas
Morgan
Irwin (prolly PS)
Washington (PS at best, prolly cut)

They will probably keep their eyes peeled on any vets or young guys that get cut.

Mike Brown is a work for your check, so AJ and Ross had to play, one got injured so the other had to be there.  Until Tate got hurt himself, then AJ finished it.

He doesn't need work there. He just needs to be put on the field more.

I like Tate well enough (and I’ve even defended him a lot here), but he just never became the red zone weapon I hoped he’d be.

Hard to be a red zone weapon when you get a total of 4 targets inside the 20 and zero inside the 10.

Tate only put up 40 receptions on 80 targets that year when he played 647 offensive snaps, the second-most snaps among WRs.
He did just about the same as Alex Erickson, who put up 43 receptions for 529 yards on 615 offensive snaps that year.
The difference is Erickson had added value as a returner.

50% with Andy Dalton throwing him the ball and about 50% of that 50% had to be circus catches.

63% with Burrow throwing him the ball last year.

Eh, he got 80 targets in 2019 (and still only had 1 TD). I don’t really buy lack of opportunity. Plus he’s always hurt.

Yup. It's straight up silly, at a minimum.

I am not saying I want Tate on the field over Boyd, but when Boyd needs a spell or when they go 4 wide, I like Tate a lot better than Mike Thomas.

I'd take Tate over Thomas or Erickson(when here)any day of the week.

It still doesn't mean that going forward that he's a lock for WR 4 on game day 2021.

He might even want to be traded/released again if he doesn't see play time or has to compete for that spot.

We shall see...

I believe Dede Westbrook would be an interesting option who, last time I looked, was still a free agent.
