As far as resetting his feet, he’s usually really good at that. The throw he missed to Mike Thomas yesterday was a rare instance where he didn’t. And to me it looked like he had time to do so.
Speaking of Mahomes arm though, that TD throw to Hill against the Browns while rolling away from the pocket… :o
He’s just absolutely ridiculous. I think he’s passed Rodgers for the most physically gifted QB I’ve seen in my lifetime.
When they were younger? Absolutely. Not Boller or Russell cannons, but they could launch it.
Plus, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Pj7_6zBYmc . The uploader clearly doesn't know what, "deep," means, but there are a few that are 50+ yard throws.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnM24kB7SsM&t=45s Peyton didn't have as much distance, but he threw lasers for a few years at the beginning.
Again, I said when they were younger, not their whole careers. Peyton couldn't throw 20 yards accurately, at the end.

Remember a really long time ago when a lot of people thought Chase was a bust before ever playing in an NFL football game? Like, a month ago?
Remember that?

He just doesn't have the cannon that Mahomes has (or Brady/Manning had, for that matter), but that's not a death knell in today's game.
Might be aging myself here but he reminds me most of Joe Montana. Not a howitzer for an arm but outstanding accuracy.

Now see, this kind of stuff just gives those of us “Team Chase” folks a bad rep. Absolutely no need to bump this thread. We all see the kid is a total stud, and just as good as advertised. Yes, it was super silly to overreact to some preseason struggles (especially after being off a year), and the thread title was always particularly eye rolling, but at this point there’s no need to rub any noses in it.
Just let this thread die, and descend into the abyss.

Bengals flavored crow is the best flavored crow. No one is mad about being wrong. We love the taste of Bengal flavored crow. We just don't get a serving of it very often.
Hopefully we can get more over the course of the season.

I still don't hold it against anybody that preferred Sewell or Pitts. I just never understood the hate for Chase.
#TeamChase and #TeamSewell should all set aside our differences and #EmbraceChase. Let the healing process begin.

Based on Ja’Marr Chase having preseason T-Rex arms he was looking like Bustus Maximus at the time. I’m ecstatic he figured out how to catch an NFL sized football just in time for the regular season and I’m extremely pleased with his production but this leads me to believe Ja’Marr Chase felt (1) entitled due to being drafted so early and because of this he (2) didn’t give his all during the preseason.

Just goes to show preseason football is not be taken
As gospel on a player.
Chase was labeled as a bust by the Penei
Club and Darius Hodge
Looked like the next James Harrison.
As Hodge even seen the field this year?

I don't believe he was labeled a bust by the "Penei club". There were fears (stung by J.Ross pick), and there was bad tape that can't be denied even in hindsight.
These weren't random comments from posters on Bengals board. This was national news. I think that is what TeamChase doesn't get. They act like this thread drove the news when the news was the reason this thread was posted. National news about the Bengals is going to be discussed here.
What you guys don't realize is the Penei regret was quieted after the 2nd preseason game when everyone saw Carman flash.

Team Chase thinks his success is validation whereas Team O-line only views this pick as a non-mistake based on one thing, Burrow's health, not team success because none of us expect a Championship this season. If Burrow plays an entire season without injury, then no, I won't regret the Chase pick. If Brandon Allen or another QB not on the roster yet finishes the season, team Chase is going to be very quiet on this subject.

"Folks" can thumbs down this, but his preseason tape speaks for itself. They can deny it exists and think that this was news only on this board by posters who were worried about Burrow getting injured again and not being properly protected (gasp the nerve of us), but they are rewriting history to fit their narrative.

It's really only been 2 weeks (the last two games) the line has calmed fears enough to say Chase was the right pick, but they've been waiting to bump this thread up.
Which I don't mind because like I said earlier, no one is upset about being wrong about Chase.

I bumped this thread because in that redraft I posted Sewell isn't in top 10. If we were to go oline, slater would've been the better pick.

The world doesn't quite work that way. There are a myriad of reasons why it could have been the way it was. Doesn't matter though, because when the season started, he was the Ja'Marr everyone hoped for.

Sorry............ couldn't help it!
I'll admit that he did scare me a bit but just seemed to turn it on!
My initial thoughts were "hell, we have another diva receiver that won't put in the effort to make catches and his natural ability was overrated," but he has seemed like a different player once it started counting!
That does seem a bit dangerous if he's not willing to put in the work in the offseason and in practice when it doesn't "count," but I think he was just getting back into the swing of things.
I think he has the potential to be in the HOF, along with Burrow, if we can just give Burrow a line to offer him some protection and give him time.

I disagree with your assessment.
He didn't have a "catching" problem in college. I think he might have been more focused on perfecting his route running and being consistently where he's supposed to be. Once that becomes second nature, then time to focus on tracking the ball. And don't forget, he did have a year off, so his route running might have been a bit rusty.
