People act like Whitworth has some reason to be insulted by what the Bengals did to him when in fact the made him a reasonable offer but, like most teams, were not willing to give a three year contract to a 36 year old player.

On the other hand, Willie was still under contract and trying to play through an injury. The Bengals told him he would either have to take a pay cut or be released. He didn't so they cut him.

Fans need to either stop squealing about how Whit was treated or start squealing about how Willie was treated.

50% because it was not a multi year deal. For one year, the numbers were very close. Of course he got more guaranteed money for a 3 year deal than he would have a 1 year deal, because the numbers are bigger. It was a very fair offer.

So 50% the total and less guaranteed money. That's not 50% of the best offer, but the next worst. That sounds like the very opposite of a fair offer. Sounds actually exactly like the definition of lowball.

Bengals offered $10 million a year.  He signed with Rams for $12 million a year.

So where the hell does the "50-60%" come from?  None of that makes any sense.

Can have an opinion and give a guess as something is happening. There's a chance of being right or wrong, in that incoming future. If you were correct, you would have had foresight. I thought Ross was going to be a bust and he was. I also thought David Klingler was going to be a winning quarterback here. I don't excuse it. Was wrong, take the "L" and motor on. Every bad choice had reasons for it being made. Doesn't make it any less stupid.

Seems to me that the OP was intending to assert that there is a new RT #71 in town, and that he did a fine job today.
