What Position Did Paul Brown Draft First

I'm not sure but I think that he drafted an offensive lineman first.
A Center.... Could be wrong. If so why would he draft that position first?

If you're referring to the Bengals, then C Bob Johnson is correct. But his first draft pick ever was a HB from Oregon State named Ken Carpenter.

Yes, I was referring to the Bengals. Thanks for your reply. Just wanted insight on why the Godfather of football would draft not only an offensive lineman first but a CENTER. Why that position.

I have to assume that he was staying true to his draft board and took the best player available.  But everyone knows the game is won and lost in the trenches, so the board can always get skewed into that direction if you let it.
