Saw Jonah come right back after and block Mack and another OL one right after the other. It is early in the season and to act like we haven't seen some damn good pass rushers is ignorant. To also act like it has all been on the OL and Pollack is also ignorant.

At least Hopkins looked competent again.

We will see how bad he looks after 2 games, it hasn't been promising so far and the Packers have some good pass rushers. Chase on the other hand has looked more than promising in his first 2 NFL games. Thought Burrow missed Chase early too against the Bears where Chase was running a short Post Slant and Burrow threw outside to Tee instead and it ended in an incompletion. Burrow just had a rough game and it sure wasn't all on the OL. Need to audible out of those outside curls if the DB's are all over them. Use Tee on inside curls so he can use his body to shield.

Remember that, was right before he threw the long TD to Chase on the same drive. Burrow did sail that one. Burrow will be scratching his head when watching film of this game to say the least. Its alright, early in the season, we are .500. Lets get a win against Pitt and things are looking up. One game at a time. Lots to learn from in that Bears game though. Don't put so much on the Defense is a big one.

Looks like the Jackson Carman era is imminent.

I never got overly involved in the fight but.......this #58 for Detroit looks good

Honestly, the problem isn't the line, its the play calling. A good coach would hide the oline issues, instead Turd Taylor exposes them. He has to go.

It took several years of bad drafting, bad free agents and bad negotiating for the line to get where it is.
If we put a lot of emphasis into it (seeking out proven FA, making good drafting decisions, and locking down the talent on the roster) then we might get a decent OL in a couple seasons. And a good one (good starters, not a ton of dropoff in depth) in 3-4 years. Unfortunately, our focus is on skills players and corners, and has been for several years. We're a looooong way off from having a decent line.

If only there was another way to add players to your team besides the draft… Not to start this entire debate again... but they could have also added a WR in FA just as easily as a high end OL player. The team screwed up FA by not filling one of the two big offensive holes with a real solution so that the draft board was open. Kenny Golladay would have looked good in stripes.

Unfortunately, almost all of the FA $'s the past 2 years have gone into the defense. And to be fair, the D actually looks really good through two games. I would just be happy if guys looked like they knew who to block half the time. At this point, we're on OL coach #2, and the problems still persist.

The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.

To put things in to perspective, in 2020 Burrow averaged 40.4 pass attempts per game. In 2021 he's averaged 28.5 pass attempts per game. The sack percentage for 2020 was 7.2%. For 2021 it's 13.6%. Regardless of which player gets credited with the sack, the results are troubling. |
