This League's A Joke

I think this goes to a larger subject about what is and isn't reviewable.

The Higgens catch that wasn't really a catch (maybe?) Was reviewable but the jets choose not to challenge.

Well that's their problem.

The 2 TDs(not catches) are automatically reviewed (they still got the call wrong, maybe?).

But that penalty (not a penalty) isn't reviewable. Perhaps a coach should be allowed to challenge anything. Not increase the number of challenges but be considered a review of any call or non call.

Its a risk to them to challenge something subjective but in a case like this totally worth it if they have a challenge left.

it might look worth the risk but what are the chances they would have overturned that call?

id say less than 5%

You might be correct but you have to do it in that circumstance if given the option.  You'd be foolish not to.

You be an idiot to waste a challenge on an off-sides call on a first down early in the first quarter but on a 3rd down call that resets downs with under 2 minutes in the game.  Hell yeah you throw the red flag.

I'm not suggesting this call cost the game.  I was avoiding taking a stance on that since it hardly matters at this point (I think I gave my position on it in another post anyways).

I just thought this made for an interesting look at whats challengeable and what isn't and why.

After the disaster that was challenging pass interference last year you may correct in your assessment though.  Refs did not want to overturn their own calls on subjective and ticky-tack PI penalties even when watching it played back it was clear they made the incorrect call.

So Im not suggesting many or any of these kinds of calls would be overturned but I do think it's an interesting conversation.
