We are closer to the year 2030 than the last time Carson played for the Bengals. Dudes in the review mirror so I don't really care what he has to say about the Bengals.

He is also a pittsburgh native

All he talks about is " No indoor practice facility".The players we have now said they don't even care about it. So sick of hearing about it...

Just saw Carson on Brother from another. He's saying Joe will leave when his contract is up because theybwill be happy whether they win this super bowl and not build around him. Says they will only spend 20 out of 60 mill and won't update the facilities or get him an Oline...

Jordan Palmer is much more relevant in NFL circles these days. I’ll pay attention when that brother has something to say.

People call Boomer a hater.

Now THIS is what an actual hater looks like.

Whether or not you think he was right for being upset in 2010 (I do), projecting worst case scenarios like this exposes him as a full blown hater.

This take reeks of saltiness, and I don't see how anyone could defend it.

He's picked the rams in every single video I've seen. I don't know what you been watching...

Seemed to me like that was all hypothetical conjecture whereas you’re presenting it as if he made definitive statements.

Fun fact:

Back on the mothership there was a huge CP9 v. 85 conflict. It kinda hit its peak when Chad said "Without 85 there is no 9 and without 9 there is no 85".

The "establishment" on that forum were huge on the CP9 side. There was a poster named kday999 that went to -30000000 rep points because she backed 85.

I recall the post: After it was discovered she was female after a heated back and forth; a "regular" on that forum said: "My bad, by you posts I thought you were a guy". She said "And by your posts I thought you were a bytch". That poster is still active here.

If he's gonna be a bitter old man then I'm going to be a bitter old fan.

Because your career wasn't affected by the thriftiness of Mike Brown. You can come and go as you please in regards to the Bengals and it doesn't really affect you in any way.

It's a free country so you can be bitter all you want but it's silly.

I'm sure the CP guys will defend this as well, and CP does a good job of coming off friendly while he's subtlety bashing the FO, but it is what it is.

Again, why now? Before the Super Bowl? If you want to casually bash the Front Office for what happened during your tenure (that ended 11 years ago) in May or June? Fine. After a terrible year? Makes sense.

Before the Super Bowl? Seems like a weird time to bring up bad things that happened 11 to 17 years ago.

And again, I'd respect his take more if he didn't try to paint the Bengals as being cheap with the roster when they spent $200+ million on free agents over a 2 year span.

Keep your take fair and reasonable, or you come across as bitter.

Also, your past experience doesn't = how things are now. 2010 was a long time ago.

If you, being a 'native Cincinnatian', went and played football for the LA Rams and they were run like the Bengals, wouild you give 2 shits about when or where you recounted how they were run and how it was well below the NFL norm?

I have no logical retort to this.

it really comes down to one simple fact. palmer never got this team to this point. burrow did it in 2 years after a similar knee injury. not the same but similar.

now, palmer has every right to be salty. for good reason (ownership) and bad (even andy dalton had more playoff appearances). that includes cp's time in oakland and phoenix.

So here are my takes with scouting.

We have ONE guy that does analytics, but apparently he is doing a good job.  According to ESPN every other team has a handful, not sure of the impact one way or the other?

We have 6 FT time scouts now, by far the fewest in the league, and our divisional rivals best us 3-1 numbers-wise.
Which would not be an issue for me if the following hadnt occurred:

3 1st round busts in 4 years (2015-2018) - a killer for a small market team.

Only ONE solid Oline starter drafted in the last 10 years.  - Inexcusable for any team.

I am really frustrated that a man who has shown he is incompetent when it comes to identifying talent and other facets still demands to have final approval over draft picks and to choose draft picks at 86 years of age.  (I understand he is the owner and always believed he is a great GM)

Carmen was not a good pick with others still on the board like Cosmi, Creed and others - would really like to know if the rumor that Pollack wasnt thrilled is true.  MB and Paul Alexander's great idea.  I do have faith he will productive eventually.

I dont want moan and gripe during SB week, I simply want us to be on a level playing field with the 2nd worst team resources-wise.

Tied for last with scouts, build the worst practice facility, and retire MB from any and all decision making, these would make me happy.

I certainly get it, but there is one analytics guy, and a few other staffers that don't have that as their title from what I've heard and read. It's still mom and pop, but if you hire the right people that are multi taskers, you can make it work. Like I said, Zac was afforded the largest staff ever hired by the Bengals.

A lot of the reason for those busts, you already mentioned, Piano Paul the ketchup specialist. One of the many reasons I bashed MB over the years....but one of my biggest.

Yes, I most definitely would. Because airing it constantly and right before the Super Bowl makes you look salty and weak. I'd also at least "attempt" to be fair with my criticism. Him saying (essentially) that the current roster is weak and the Bengals haven't spent big is factually incorrect.

We're not talking about what the team was like in 2007, here. If he was, I'd probably agree with him. What he's saying about the Bengals now is complete BS, and even the staunchest Palmer apologists should be able to admit that.

Also, projecting Burrow leaving the organization because they won't spend again complete BS. What happened with him isn't guaranteed to happen with Burrow...and looking at how the FO has behaved over the last 2 years, I'd wager it won't. I guess that's why Carson downplayed our FA activity.

He's crossed the line from truthful criticism to salt laced fabricated scenarios.
