A few thoughts after the Super Bowl
#21
I still can’t believe how badly they choked and how awful the offensive gameplan was. I’d have much rather been blown out by 40. Scoreless in the final 27 minutes. That’s unforgivable.

Overall, I think the officiating was fine. My only (minor) gripe is they let the little holding plays go all game until the very end.

Ultimately, the o-line lost this game, but I'm very proud of how far the team went this year.

having to settle for a fg after that first turnover hurt.

Ok. How about the Chiefs? How many examples you want?

The holding call on Wilson was complete and utter BS. Not called the whole game plus he didn’t hold.

But atrociously bad o line lost game. We should have been up by at least 11 points.

But being blown out by 40 would be "forgivable"?

It would be a lot easier to stomach.

Oddly enough I’m upset but not as much as I was when Georgia blew their opportunities against Alabama in the SEC Championship a while ago (with Stafford I think) and in the national championship when we lost. Partially because I had the expectation of us to get there all year. The bengals on the other hand I would have been ecstatic with a playoff appearance (win or lose) so we had way blown out my expectations for the season.

I’m am glad to see Stafford and Whitworth get a ring. Better than watching Brady or Rodgers or a 49er or Mahomes grab one.

Hopefully since the offensive line fell flat on their face in this game Mike Brown and company will be even more encouraged to fix the line.

As far as I'm concerned they're going back to the big show until proven otherwise.

why are you allowed opinions that people might disagree with, but others aren't?

if you got a good argument, you don't need insults.

I didn’t insult him.

We can go through all the good/great teams that haven't. It's far more than the 2 you mentioned. But no one but you are arguing what everyone seems to get is my point. When you get there you have to take advantage of it because we've seen countless of times great QB's and or good teams not getting the opportunity twice. You arguing with yourself at this point.

how about the examples of all the teams that went and didn't get back with the same qb?

hopefully they can get back, but just pointing to other teams doesn't make it so or not so.

Live in your cynical pessimistic world if you want. I personally think we have a great shot at getting back there. Got there in only year 2 with Burrow despite a bad OL. Upgrade his protection and he’ll carve teams up with Chase and Tee for years. And our core players on defense (Hendrickson, Reader, Hubbard, Wilson, Awuzie) are all signed for the near future.
