Burrow Recruiting Collins

yes

I'm a little bit shocked they did that already. We need to sign Collins. But now some uncertainty at LG or more than there was already. If Zion is there at 31 I still say we take him.

This is agony.
Everything in this post is my fault.

Good Lord. Chill! Don't I remember that Burrow sealed the signing of Reiff last year? They're probably just sitting down to dinner now. Give Joey Franchise a chance.

I wouldn't call it agony, but having things drag on like this is so Bengals...

Yes Hopkins was released today.
I doubt Reiff would sign to be a backup OT unless he had no other choice and/or was compensated well enough to not care.
I thought he wanted to be a starter somewhere, anywhere.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

I've got nothing to add to the Collins talk but at least today reaffirmed for me that if you include team contributions outside of actual games. Then Mike Hilton has to be one of the best Bengals FA signings of all time.

Whether it has worked or not, can't deny how much public recruiting he has done for the team.

Idk, if Elam or Booth are there and we haven't addressed CB2 in FA, I think we should at least consider them. I'd rather have one glaring hole on the o line (assuming we land Collins) than a hole at DB, especially after this Watson deal. And if CLE signs another solid WR, I'd say CB should be a priority at 31 depending on who falls

Williams, Carman, Karras, Cappa, and Collins would still be light-years ahead of last year's line, but CB will be the exact same as of this post

Attention all "the sky is falling" people: we didn't sign Reiff until the following morning after his Jeff Ruby's dinner with Burrow and company. Which btw, we had Reiff in last year on this day. Ya'll can chill.

If something weren't going right, or in the wrong direction, or even if he left the stadium, you would've heard that by now. He's a Bengal. Let's talk about LG?

If they don't get the deal done its a clear message the league hates Burrow.  Ninja Ninja

Good point, Bengals have some good human beings that care about this city and Team.

I agree. Just Zion would fit exactly what we would need as far as LG who could give you emergency depth at center. But I think its becoming more likely that those top lineman are gone already including Zion. So a corner could make a lot of sense.

If… Collins signs there biggest need is corner. However if a lineman that’s like Zion or a great tackle they may opt to take them @ 31. But I’m pretty sure it will be a corner as things are looking.

Even if Bengals add Collins, they're an injury away from starting Prince, Adeniji, or Hill potentially.
We saw how that played out in the postseason. Not good.
Lately, it seems like we've been pretty lucky with injuries (literally just rolled over to the wall to knock on wood ThumbsUp ( Hilarious), but our horrible luck with injuries still worries me and, yes, one injury away from a big hole in our line.

Granted that it's better than last year when we had a hole in four(?) spots all year, but it would still be great to be at full strength.

Reiff might want to be a starter somewhere and is probably good enough, but he's 33(?) and coming off a season-ending injury, so he might know his best bet is to re-sign with us.

Greater Cincinnati (Northern Kentucky included), is a great area and we're so grateful to finally have a football team this good that the public will pretty much worship any Bengals player.

The fact that he is still here has me optimistic.

So does the fact the we cut Hopkins. And I am one who would have preferred Hopkins at C and Karras at LG to Carman at LG and Karras at C (which is what it looks like we have). And I wanted to make a run at Tretter. But I think cutting Hopkins today indicates we think we may need more cap space imminently (to sign Collins).
