Look at it this way, Randy Bullock hit a ton of 4th quarter kicks for us in close games. Would anyone on here say he's clutch? Probably not, because he didn't hit the most important ones. Not often enough, anyway.
But yeah, glad to talk hoops even if we don't agree.

Jordan averaged more shots per game and per 36 than Lebron does. MJ was an all-around GOAT, but he was primarily known for his scoring ability and defensive prowess. Lebron is not. Despite being a great scorer, he is known for his passing and playmaking abilities. They're different players completely. MG was a score first shooting guard whereas Lebron embodies the positionless basketball as a "point forward" type player.

Burrow has already proven that he can take over the game and lead his team to (at least) a split second block from winning a title.
LeBron has won 4 NBA Championships and every single time he was MVP of the finals. He has also won 4 regular season MVPs.
I love Joe Burrow but it is silly at this point to even try to compare him to LeBron. Bron didn't have a ring by hi second season so it is still early. But right now Burrow is not even in the same discussion with LeBron as far as the "it" factor.

OK enough chat about the NBA which has n relevance to this thread. Mods need to delete a bunch of posts
Now back to Burrow, can he become an Icon Nationally?
I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

I predict that he becomes hated like Brady outside of the fan base. I like his confidence, but other fan bases won't.
There are just a bunch of marquee QBs especially in the AFC.
This. Joe Burrow is fun to watch but his popularity requires that he continues to play winning football. He's way more Broadway Joe than Peyton Manning. Or he could double down on his young gun personae and become a national spokesman for "Manscaped "

Bron has had a bunch of stacked teams and couldn't win.
I'm not saying Burrow is better than Lebron but it's not incorrect in saying that Burrow has the "it" factor and Lebron doesn't.

I think it’s important to remember that the NBA has been in the era of “super teams” for a while now. Out of the 10 Finals that Bron has been to, his team has only been favored to win three times. These were the 2020-2020 Finals, the 2013 Finals and the 2011 Finals. He has been on some stacked teams, but he has also gone up against stacked teams. The 2007 Spurs with Parker, Ginobli and Duncan. All of the Warriors Finals with Curry, Durant and Klay. The young Thunder squad with Durant, Harden and Westbrook.

Yes it is.
When you have 4 championships and you were the MVP of every one of those series then you have the "it" factor.

Derailed. I'm not a fan of strict moderation and having tons of rules but sometimes I wish this forum had a rule about derailing threads. Some other forums I follow have rules against derailing and it does seem to keep threads on topic. That said, I've gone off topic a few times myself. It's easy to get caught up in the moment and do that. :)

Lebron has won championships because he has been on loaded teams.
How many times has Lebron passed on a last second shot?
Pure talent got him those MVPs, not the "it" factor.
This article describes how Lebron is lacking the "it" factor.

Everyone who wins an NBA Championship is on a loaded team.
But if he was winning because of other players then they would be winning the Series MVPs instead of him.

This article is from 2011 when LeBron had not yet won a title. And it is kind of funny because by his seventh season when this was written LeBron had already been to an NBA finals in just his 4th season. Jordan did not even make the finals until his 7th season.
If you went back to the same point in Jordan's career you would find stories about how he was too soft to get the Bulls past the Pistons and into the NBA Finals.

lol Jordan wasn't on loaded teams. His teams weren't bad but they weren't near as loaded as Bron's teams.
If you have been watching any television lately, analysts aren't even trying to argue Lebron as the GOAT anymore, which the dude has all the physical abilities in the world, so what's missing? The "it" factor.
You're proving how clueless you are in this matter.

Lebron's path to the finals was a lot easier.
Once again, I'm pretty sure this is another instance of you just trying to contradict anything I post because this makes no sense.

It makes "no sense" to say that a guy with 4 rings 4 regular season MVPs and 4 Championship series MVPs has the "it" factor?
You know, Brad, I disagree with a lot of other people on this board. But instead of just making everything personal when I disagree with them they make arguments about the issue we are debating.
So far all you have posted is an article from 2011 which was before LeBron had won any of his championships. And 6 years into Jordan's career people were saying the exact same thing about him because he had not even made an NBA finals yet.

lol
You not only make things personal when we "debate," but you also post lie after lie!
It's comical because then you'll say "I've never posted a lie" or "you've never proven me wrong" even though I always post multiple examples!
To be honest, it's sad.
Another thing that's sad is you always just post links with not quotes or anything, so that's usually a tell that they don't prove your points.

That's about scoring, not about winning, which it even says:
Quote:While James is putting up one of the greatest offensive seasons of his storied career, the Lakers are sputtering. After a loss on Tuesday night to Kidd’s Mavericks, Los Angeles fell to the No. 11 spot in the West, on the outside looking in for the play-in tournament for the playoffs.
Who cares how much he's scoring if his team's not winning.

That just argues statistics and further proves that James didn't have the "it" factor.
