Indefinite Suspension? - Watson

Would be laughable, must have super attorneys if they can convince the league that 25-60 women is the same as Kraft and Ben.

At this point though I fully expect a slap on the wrist.

Substance abuse is always a murky topic and not always one that affects anyone other than the person using. Drinking doesn't always affect others, but it can. How about weed? OH, BUT it's ILLEGAL! (insert gasp here) So what? So is spitting on sidewalks in many places, but we don't suspend people for spitting on sidewalks.. Littering is deemed illegal in most jurisdictions, but I've never seen anyone get pulled over and tossed in prison for it much less suspended from the NFL over littering.. The closest most of us have come to seeing anyone punished for littering is in the song Alice's Restaurant..and yet we've all seen signs, $5000 fine and up to X numbers of days in prison for littering..
I say we start enforcing litter laws to the max and toss anyone out of the NFL for littering..
Anyway..Substance abuse is usually limited to messing up the user's lives...not anyone else's except maybe their families..

Hope not, I could see this happening if he was on the Steelers or the Patriots but is there a bias for the Browns?

I don't know of a bias for them, from what Stewy said I find to be more likely.

R Kelly just got sentenced, but isnt the big distinction that R Kelly was abusing minors and Watson was with Adults?

I don't think the Kraft deal is a good comparison, but he has a point with Rapistburger, who if I remember right got 4 games for several rape allegations. They can raise the specter of racism over that.

This thread has some weird comparative analyzes IMHO.

The NFL will appeal to the court of public opinion to a large degree;
namely, the female NFL fans who are anti-Watson.

It’s still on a women-protective and minorities-elevating agenda.

Watson will one year… but max. The NFL still wants to make money.

Not sure he does have a point with Ben, dude got 6 games reduced to 4 right? He had 2 accusations.

So if we use that logic the Watson should get 48-120 games since he had 24-60 different women come out? Atleast 24 of those were full on accusations right? So if we wanna be fair I guess you give him a 72 game suspension then reduce it to 48.  Hilarious

What I'm saying is Ben is a piece of shit but Watson has WAY more accusations so not really a fair comparison when looking at punishments.

Don't take this as defending Watson, I think he is scum. But, Ben had two accusations of actual rape (there were more in college, but they were covered up) Watson has one accuser saying he forced her to perform oral sex, but the rest are basically improper touching. So Ben had less accusations, but they were far more serious. I actually think both of them should have been kicked out of the league, and it sickened me to watch women, and worst yet, fathers cheering for him.

Fair enough.

Still think time plus more coverage hurts Watson more than anything else when it comes to punishments, the NFL will want to face as little backlash as possible while keeping another scumbag in the league.

The rape allegations against Ben involved physical force.  The absolute worst thing any Watson accuser claims is that he "told her" to perform oral sex.  No allegations of physical force of any kind.

Ah well I guess he's good then, he only intimidated 25+ women but never used physical force. Guess I was wrong and Watson is a real stand-up guy.  Ninja

Truth, that is a big distinction alright.

Plus, Watson has the disadvantage of not playing for Pissburgh, cause "Stiller Football" and all that..... Ninja
