Reiff to Chicago
#1

Bears seem to like overpaying former Bengals all of a sudden.

Not really sure I understand what Reiff did last year to earn MORE money this season, but ok.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

When Reiff was playing last year, the longest win streak the Bengals had was 2 games.
Their record was 7-5 in games he played.

They had two 3-game winning streaks after he was done for the year.
Their record in games he didn't play was 6-3.

So maybe the secret is not having him on the field  Ninja

I don't have time to look it up now, but think Reiff made about 11 million with us last year, but is was paid half in 2022 and rest is dead money on cap in 2023

So similar dollar amount we paid in 2022

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

10 million of 11 must be earned.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Per this article from last year on Cincy Jungle, it was a 2-year, $7.5 mill deal.

https://www.cincyjungle.com/2021/3/21/22341892/riley-reiff-contract-bengals-roster-2021-dead-cap

Quote:To oversimplify it, Reiff is playing for only one year, but his cap hit will be $4.7 million in 2021 and $2.8 million in 2022. Reiff will play for one year, but his cap hit will spread out over two years unless the Bengals extend him before his contract expires.

Good for Riley, glad he got on a team and got overpaid lol

He is a good guy, but man does he get banged up every year.

We need to add a Guard more than a Tackle anyways.

Apparently those initial contract details were off. I don’t think he’s making nearly that much.

Hadn't seen that he had signed somewhere. Was holding out hope we could bring him back as vet depth.

Seemed like a major overpay for an older OT coming off of another injury.
