This doesn’t worry me at all.
The Bengals internal medicine team doctor is Ed Jung who works out of Christ Hospital so he very well may have had surgery there

Did he not get it done in Cali? That's what I always assumed. Dehner

He must have just been citing this guy as an expert, but he is talking like he knows all the details. That is the problem with twitter. You can't tell if this is just a guy answering a question based on the info Dehner gave him.
Burrow is from right here. No reason I can imagine for him to fly cross country for an appendectomy.

Come on man...
You don't fly somewhere to get an appendectomy. They don't have 'appendix specialists' in different states.

This is from a source, but apparently Joe's intestine was infected and they had to remove part of it. Take that for what it's worth but it would explain some things.

If you can’t name your source it’s completely worthless.

So what would that mean for his return

I think it's more that he was out there already. Wasn't he training with Uno, Higgins and Jordan Palmer in July? Plus, the rumor I heard was related to the fact that his offseason medical team was based in Cali (esp since the ACL). So for me the question isn't, "Why would he fly out to Cali?" but more, "Why would he fly back to Ohio?" Lol it's hard to explain why else Paul Dehner Jr would be calling Santa Monica for the 411 on appendectomies

For one I believe your source.
An appendectomy is removing an infected part of the intestines.

He had the surgery right at the beginning of training camp.
They were out in Cali training earlier in the month.

When did he arrive in Cincinnati

I had part of my intestine removed due to diverticulitis. It was done laparoscopically. Hurt like hell for a week, then the pain gradually subsided. The intestine actually heals almost immediately. He should have no problem making game 1, but I would not expect to see him in the pre-season, which is totally fine with me.

INCREDIBLE NEWS!
Thanks for the evaluation with the first-hand knowledge!
If he feels comfortable going into week 1 with no in-game reps, then I'm completely fine with him not taking a snap all preseason.
I know he's a pro and most likely doesn't need preseason, but I've just always assumed that it would be better to get in some work with players that aren't your teammates so you get fresh look and help to put your game into the next gear.

Just to add more anecdotal knowledge, my father had part of his intestines removed as well due to diverticulitis. He was down for a while, though. He was off work for nearly two months on doctor recommendation (he worked construction).

Well, I work at a desk now, so there's that.

'He'll be back soon': Higgins, Chase speak on Burrow appendectomy (wlwt.com)
"The day before, he was throwing me balls at practice," Higgins said. "It was shocking news to me."
"I didn't really know, I was just working out with Joe in L.A., me and him did some drills together and I didn't see nothing wrong with him, he was moving smooth to me," added Chase, the

Maybe you should mention that to Trae Waynes, AJ Green, and Geno Atkins.

2 out of the 3 are literally from the old team. Absolutely no one would associate AJ or Geno with these new Bengals.
