This is why Perine plays over Evans & Mixon (3rd downs)

Yes, he is 1 on 1 with Micah Parsons...

Worth repeating what someone noted in the comments. That IS play 19 of that drive, nobody on that DL was looking too nimble or powerful on that snap.   Hilarious

The D may have been gassed by then but that's the goal isn't it? Perine kept Parsons 8ft from Joe. Nice work.

While he's not dynamic, he does good things for this team. He doesn't get any credit.

All the dude has done for us is perform well and yet some don't like him.

In his 2 years here he's averaged over 4.9 YPC. We are lucky to have him as our #2 back

So nobody is going to point out that even given the dominance of Parsons throughout the game they STILL schemed to have a RB blocking him 1 on 1.... Just asking for it.

Still, Ive been wondering where the F is Evans? he added some juice to the passing game last yr that we lacked out of backfield.
Are coaches pissed at him or what?

Looked to me like Perine had him covered. He looked better than Collins did against him. Hilarious

True and also it actually doesn't mean Evans can't adequately block.Until Perrine grades out at an elite level each game I'll maintain that he also has weaknesses that Evans doesn't have. That play may also work with a Joe Burrow on the move rolling left which is what alot of people are clamoring for in getting out of the pocket and buying time.

There are plenty of backup RB's in the NFL that don't quite bring the exact same attributes as others on their own team. Maybe had we seen a bit more of Evans and his athleticism (Imo, he's the best athlete of all the RB's) then maybe he could have broken some bigger runs and taken a few more swing out passes for bigger plays than Mixon or Perrine.

I'd give Perine more reps this week to help until the OL gels and things settle down a bit.

lmao like what? route running? catching? Ok, now how about pass blocking and running between the tackles? Exactly.

He's got Auden Tate disease.

Overvalued by the fans...sucks in real life.

Well, if you can actually read and interpret, I did not say he was a better RB only that he brings other qualities which you agree with.

So you really answered your own question? Do you do that alot?

Seriously, though, given Perine's superior blocking skills (compared to Mixon, anyway) and that he's shown to be a decent runner, how much would our offense suffer/gain, if we traded Mixon for a high-to-mid-round draft pick or an upgrade at another position like OL or backup TE and used Perine as a 3-down back with Evans as the primary backup?
