Did we miss Andre Smith...

that bad last night?  Did we scheme to much to protect the right side of the line?

Absolutely. They were flushing Andy up into the pocket all night from that side. and it didn't matter who the edge rusher was. Hoping he is back for the cards.

It also looked like they were moving JJ around as well not just rushing him from the typical LE spot...

For the most part Watt lined up over Winston.  He found the weak link early and exposed it.  Sadly the Bengals thought it would be a good idea to keep allowing Winston to try and block Watt 1:1.  They did chip him a few times but not nearly enough.

This O-Line struggles against big defensive tackles, they just don't get any push.  In many cases they are getting blown into the backfield.  I think this is one of the biggest reason for our lackluster run game.

Andre Smith made a lot of money last night. His value to the Bengals is vastly underrated by many.

Protection was the biggest issue and as started above Andre made some coin. We need or it exposes our middle because we have to help Winston .

We knew going in Winston would probably need help, why not keep the extra TE in to help?

We also tried several what I call cross buck blocking on JJ (with the TE coming behind the RB) which didn't work as planned either.
