The Browns
#21
The Browns are always a tough out for us because they have the perfect counter to our defense: A run game that can churn out first downs through an 8 man box.

The good news is that we are no longer facing the Bengal killer, Baker Mayfield. He pulled so many incredible performances out of his ass against us that complemented Chubb's running perfectly, Brissett (hopefully) will not replicate that threat against us.

I don't think it'll be a blow out, but we should be able to take this game on Halloween.

Lol.

It’ll be a close one IMO.

The Stains are not as bad as their record.

Yeah they are...but there's these guys named Chase, Tyler and Tee and some schlub named Burrow

I can and wish for the Bengals to drop the hammer on the Browns.

Now I need a shooting star or a wishing well lol.

This is a must win for the Bengals, you can't fall to 0-3 in the division. It'd be much nicer if the division was a two horse race, because I do believe we're better than Baltimore.

Other than the Pats loss, their biggest loss was by 3 points. Definitely not as bad as their record. And we'll have to tighten up against the run else Chubb will have a day. Hopefully we can solve the Browns this time.

Does it seem to anyone else that the Browns went from a winless season to becoming NFL darlings to making that stupid QB decision in the blink of an eye? DeShaun Watson is a huge risk, and to me he's just not a winner.

Baker Mayfield always made some sick throws and plays against the Bengals in at least three different games, but Jacoby Brissett, while a capable backup won't be able to match that.

Yay schedule makers for putting it on Halloween. I can go watch the game at a bar in costume.

It's pretty much the same recipe as vs. the Falcons. Get out to an early lead and start taking them out of their comfort zone. Brissett is not that great of a throwing QB and they'll struggle playing catch up.

They will be a desperate team.  Right now, though, the Bengals seem to be in really good shape and just have to avoid beating themselves with dumb penalties and lapses in focus.

This next week could all but end their season.

Try living in an area where it's mostly Clowns fans...every year same ++++ "This is our year....SB baby....Now that we have (fill in the blank) our team is complete!"....etc. Gets old real fast. I am worried about this game though. The clowns players had some meeting after the game, are all pi##ed off. Hopefully we win this one on the national stage. If not, then I have to hear it from all of their idiot fans. Ugh.

Yep its not a must win, but it's damn close to one.

Obviously need division wins and to stay above .500 with overall record,  2 wins before the bye would be sweet.

Glad the Bengals have found they're groove now and feel good about their chances to get these 2 wins.

Since the stains couldnt beat the ratbirds, the stains need to be punished for their heavy incompetence. Bengals win 45 - 3

Realistically their season is over now but they won't acknowledge that and in fact they can lose the next three or four and still think that Watson will somehow get them into the playoffs. They're quite delusional.

Gameplan once again should be to take the ball 1st, score and in a perfect world keep the Browns behind the 8 ball so they have to run less than they want to.

Brissett has been good for them but he’s not winning a game by himself or finishing a comeback against us.

If we get them down they are screwed

Yup

They know 2-6 will put their season in dire straights. They're gonna try and hit us with a heavy dose of Chubb and keep our O off the field. Going for it on 4th down, fake punts, onside kicks, and so on will be on the table.

We need TD's early and often.

It’s weird, they are right there with the Steelers for the worst team in the division but I worry about playing them more than the ravens or Steelers now. They match up well with us. Would feel really good to crush them the way we just did Atlanta

Yep, the first 2/3 of the game will be trick or treating time here, so I'll be missing most of the game standing outside in the cold.  But I imagine it'll be a fun atmosphere at the game!

And I agree with everyone else here... screw the Browns.  I love a passionate fanbase that sticks with their team through the tough times.  Lions fans are hard to hate.  But the Browns fans just always seem to come out every year like they're the chosen ones.  I had an Uber driver a couple of months ago who spent the entire 40 minute drive to the airport telling me how the Browns got screwed with the Watson thing and "it's not that big of a deal" and didn't deserve the suspension.  They're just easy to dislike all around.

Denzel Ward has missed a couple games because of Concussions I would say he's back to go up against Chase and Higgins. Wyatt Teller is dealing with a calf and missed the Ravens game he is a big part of their rushing offense no idea whats going on with him. If Teller is out that is big for a banged up Cincy Defensive Line.

Meh, the Browns went into Pittsburgh and won that playoff game, but that season was flanked by the 2019 and 2021 seasons where the general public gleefully watched Mayfield and the Browns crap their collective pants and finish well below expectations.  The Browns were pretty ridiculed for most of the Mayfield era, so I can see why they moved on to a detestable QB who might be good rather than him.

Add in that the Mayfield revenge tour in Carolina lasted about 1 quarter of football before petering out, and I can see why they moved on.  Brisset and Mayfield are both pretty good at blowing it when it matters most, but one was a 1st overall pick QB and the other is a career backup.

At any rate, having Burrow as our QB means we shouldn't care if the Steelers and Browns and Ravens trade for Mahommes, Josh Allen, and Dan Marino in his prime so we should win whether the Browns have Mayfield, Brisset, or Watson.  We're supposed to win now.

Personally, I'm quite OK with the Browns being better than the Steelers or even the Ravens if I had to pick one of those three, but again that mostly comes down to the notion that we are the new look Bengals and shouldn't care how talented the rest of the division is because we're going to beat them, right?
