The discord server is solid. I wish there were a bit more participation, but at least those there generally talk about football, and have overall avoided the overreacting doom and gloom.

You're supporting a Platform that literally enables child grooming, sex trafficking, revenge porn; etc.

I can't say I saw all that was said in the GD thread. But I don't think it's toxic. Emotions run high during the game and people have high expectations for this team as we all should. I just think when people call the defense trash because they let the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS score points. One of the top teams in the entire league that you just have to realize it's ridiculous and really just stems from how much they love the Bengals.

Discord is no different from every other chat platform in history. The issues you're pointing too isn't a Discord problem but a society one.

We had the lead and people were saying we'd lose. I saw people calling for Lou to be fired.

That said...for decades we'd see the Bengals fold when they lost a lead. Then, getting stopped on that 4th and 1. The Boyd missed TD.

But, they fought back with the Pratt strip.

Burrow changes the team. The players believe they can win. Fans need to recalibrate to that new reality.

The issues are more unique to Discord because there's reason to think it's more profound relative to other platforms plus what little its founders have done to address the problem.

You could literally name any social platform and find some very serious and disturbing problems that exist with it. It's what happens when you combine humans beings and the internet.

If you don't like Discord, then don't use it. Seems pretty simple.

I know I said I had a bad feeling about the game early in the 2nd half. But I was also looking at it as we hadn't played a great game as far as mistakes had gone and we were still right there in the game.

But as far as people saying Lou should be fired that's the ridiculous stuff I'm talking about you just have to ignore.

Some more than others.

The best thing I can advise for you is to do your own research on what makes discord so unique to other platforms about this issue.

I get it. It's easy to use and was a solution to a problem that you understandably didn't want to address through harsher action. But that doesn't change the facts on the ground.

It's not. Not even close.

I remember similar articles 25 years ago about ICQ and AOL Messenger. Discord is just another anonymous chat platform like Snapchat or KiK. With Anonymous you get Pervs that's just how it works. You can't blame Discord.

But it is what it is. Either use it or dont doesnt bother me. I will until a new one comes out that people switch too to talk Bengals.

We need to move our gameday threads to Christian mingle or farmers only.

I think some of the thing with platforms is how fast they respond or don't respond to complaints. Because at the end of the day, users control the content and some will violate rules, etc.

It's always a fine line because people want privacy, but they also want to be protected and not have certain types of content. It's somewhat a tradeoff. They could likely use AI to block and report.

I couldn't even imagine how many complaints some of these platforms receive a day.

Generalities above. I don't know specifics about Discord. But, I think all of these platforms face challenges...as does society as a whole.
