2. When I came up with this idea, this was right before or right as Carter was performing.

3. Agree that pick 1 will be CB, DE or OT. Only issue could be that CBs likely will be picked over, same with OTs unless Wright falls. Edge seems like it'll be of value but with this edge class, you may be able to wait until 2. Maybe someone falls in love with a prospect and we trade down for an early 4th or additional picks next year?

Agreed. Rd1 gets interesting if, as is most likely,

1) The top CBs are gone
2) The top OT's are gone
3) No blue chip/top 20 guy falls to us

Reid at ESPN has a pretty good take on the 20 guys who have across the board Rd1 grades, those would be my blue chips in this scenario. QB: Young, Stroud, Levis. RB: Robinson. WR: Smith-Njigba, Addison, Johnston. TE: Mayer. OT: Skoronski, Johnson, Jones. Edge: Anderson, Murphy, Wilson, Van Ness. DT: Carter. CB: Witherspoon, Porter, Gonzalez. S: Branch.

Do we do a bit of a reach for an OT/CB/DE? A lot of guys may be a reach at 29-32 but will be long gone by 60. Harrison at OT? Forbes or Banks or Phillips at CB. Foskey at DE.

Or do we take a guy who is a bit higher on the rungs of the ladder, positionally, but at a lower priority position? Torrence at G. Kincaid or Washington at TE. Ika at NT. Sanders or Simpson at LB. Johnson at S. Kancey at DT. A RB?

How guys like Carman, Adeniji, Apple, CTB, Wilcox, & Scharping play may shape our FA & draft approaches.

can we talk about this AFTER WE WIN THE BOWL?
but IMO: Edge/DE and CB are priorites

Considering this is the draft forum, not a chance.

Edge does make sense but this class is deep so not a priority in 1 imo. CB seems more likely and I'd understand it entirely.

Honestly, this year, if available, I'd go Simpson. We are likely losing Pratt so I would take Simpson and add to LB room with an athlete.

I just can't see OG at all. NTs rarely, if ever go in 1 anymore. Johnson only if Bell leaves and they don't feel Andersen is capable at all.

Harrison gives me Ced vibes with the lack of power in punch but I guess its something that can be improved upon. Forbes/Banks feels like a 2nd rounder. Phillips could only fill slot imo and I don't want to think about Hilton pricing himself out of Cincy.

TEs I don't think are used enough to justify 1st round for us almost at all.
