Bates To Falcons
#1
Just heard on NFL Network in the next room.

They're getting details now but that's a definite tough one to take, even if we expected him gone.

Losing both starting safeties, nice

Well, if they had to go, at least Bates and Bell both went to teams I don't hate. Much better than staying in-division, or going to a perennial postseason opponent.

Large hole at the safety position. And who knows if Daxton Hill will be as good as Bates or Bell

Offense is going to have to step up. Losing both Safety's is going to be challenging even if they draft or sign a FA. It'll take a couple years to adapt to the system.

Dude got paid.. 4th highest in NFL history for a safety.

Good for him but the Bengals played this one perfectly.

Rough one to take.

Miracles could happen and deals could fall through before everything gets finalized, but hopefully we can bring in another guy like Gardner-Johnson.

He's going to be looking to get Bates money I assume.

I would have never gave him that contract. He's not as good as Minkah, etc.

Yes. And we won't be giving that out.

They had no excuse to better prepare Hill. Back end of the Defense is going to be very suspect now...

That's not outrageous.
It's $16 mill APY.

We said last year his market value was about $15-18 mill APY.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Not at all opposed for Special Teams and veteran locker room presence. But that's all he should do unless everyone is hurt.

Seriously, there is a wide group of safety options on the market still. I am not worried at this juncture.

That's how I am and what I mentioned saying that the market is flooded, but you'd still like to have your players that are familiar with the team, teammates, scheme, and the situation.
