OBJ to Ravens

Assuming it's legit, I wonder if this was done for Lamar Jackson.

I haven't seen ESPN or PFT pick up the story yet.

Up to 18M is what he can possibly earn

So yeah if your 1st question was why….that’s why.

If I’m Lamar i would’ve left Baltimore anyway even if this contract stuff wasn’t an issue.

Iv been telling y’all to get me a good WR forever and your big splash is a guy coming off of 2 knee injuries?

Do they even want to win?

Nice. A receiver that gets injured as much or more than their quarterback and running back. Seems like a solid formula. They could call them the Cripp-lets.

Good signing for the Bengals.

The Ravens will have to due cap gymnastics, must be a 1 year deal with 2 or 3 voidable years.

They only have less than 7 million in cap space, so I want to see the contract.

If you are Jackson, this puts a smile on your face or ticks you off them paying a LB Smith and now a WR prior to finalizing your contract.

My hunch is they did this to get Lamar to take a deal so they can lower the 33 million cap hit for them in 2023.

I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

I like the deal because it appears to be a desperation move by the Ravens.

“Suffered two ACL tears playing these Bengals. I’m gonna try my luck again.” - OBJ (probably)

This is cap gymnastics at its finest. In essence, a 6 year deal, looks like one year deal with 5 voidable years (dead money in the future).

Let the Ravens have OBJ. He'll be going into huddles "give me the ball". That's a distraction.

Huge overpay, but I guess they had to do what they had to do in order to get a vet WR to go with the WR they'll inevitably draft.

If OBJ had issues with Baker....   I cant see it ending well when hes open and jackson decides to run

Draft a WR? It's a TE heavy year, they gonna take 5 TE's this year! Don't need no stinkin' WR's. TE's cheaper

This is an example of cap gymnastics. He is as of now (unless they do a restructure after 2023), to be a dead money cap hit of 11,068,000 in 2024

Good fit for obj.

I hope for his sake the knee holds up. Ravens drafted someone high with an acl history as well.

They need a qb still.

But they definitely have a solid defense.
