Rounds 2, 3 and 4.

Who ya taking and why?

I'm taking:

60)Zach Charbonnet RB- UCLA, and I'm in favor of cutting Mixon on June 1st.

92) Zack Kuntz- TE at 6'8, 260lbs and runs a 4.5/ 40 and a 21-rep bench- This guy is a freak of nature and we'd be crazy not to get him.

131) Cory Trice, Jr. CB Perdue- This guy is a quality CB for a 3 or 4th round prospect

For the later rounds, there will be a lot more surprise picks/reaches & guys who drop a lot. Cannot say until I look at the board.

Here are 20 I dig at #60, the first 15 more than the last 5.

A. Thrilled (15)
TE: Mayer, Washington, LaPorta, Kraft
CB: Porter, Brents, C. Smith
OT: D. Jones, Bergeron, Mauch (OT/OG)
DT: Benton
OG: Torrence, Avila
WR: Hyatt, Mingo

B. Not thrilled, but content (5)
TE: Musgrave
CB: Turner, Stevenson
OC: Schmitz, Tippman

C. Bummer that the guys I wanted were gone, but this can still work (8)
RB: Charbonnet, Achane
CB: Ringo
DT: Adebewore
NT: Ika
WR: Downs, Tillman, Scott

D. Thanks but no thanks, for various reasons (13)
QB: Levis, Hooker
OT: Duncan
DE: White, Tuipulotu, Foskey, Hall
OLB/EDGE: Olujari
LB: Simpson, Sanders
S: Branch, Johnson, S. Brown

I think the guys you want will be long gone, but I guess anything is possible.  I ran the pff simulator to get a good sample and RB Charbonnet was not only the best available,  but a position we need to address b/c of Mixon.  After reading your opinions about Mixon, I changed my mind and I agree we should cut him on June 1st, and that's why I'm picking UCLA's RB Charbonnet at #60.

Bergeron and Mingo are showing up from your A-list, and Tippman from your B-list but do you see us taking a Center at 60?

We'll see. Most of them, for sure. That's why I'd be thrilled/happy to get them at #60!

NFL.com has a Day 2 mock:
#60: Cam Smith, CB.
-----Top 15 guys left: Mingo, Avila
-----Next 5: Stevenson
----If I gotta 8: Charbonnet, Archane, Scott, Ika

#92: Abanikanda, RB
---- Rd 2 guys I considered still on board: Avila, Charbonnet, Ika

I din't think the difference between Charbonnet and some of the Rd3/4 RBs is big enough justify taking him Rd2.

I am assuming Mixon stays. I'd be fine with Elliot at RB2 if we don't draft an RB1/RB2 type. I'd be drafting to replace Perine/Evans, not Mixon. At least not immediately.

I did a mock to see who I would take if the PFN simulator were real life, and it came out like this....with a trade back....

60. Sam Laporta - TE Iowa
98. Carrington Valentine - CB Kentucky
131. Roschon Johnson - RB Texas
140 - Ricky Stromberg - OC/OG Arkansas
163 Moro Ojomo - DT Texas
246 TJ Bass - OG Oregon
