Hoping Hunter Not A No Trade Contract
#1
I sure hope Reds didn't make same mistake with Greene that they made with Votto. If so, Reds ownership and GMs are too stupid to run a major league baseball team. This is not Hate. Reds have not got their moneys worth from Votto in a long time, Reds are still paying The Moose a ton to be a flop on a different team, and Hunter Greene has yet to prove he is a major league starter, let alone the Ace of the staff.

It would be nice to know that if Greene flops, Reds do not have a Votto type NO TRADE CONTRACT with Greene also. Sometimes it's nice to be able to trade these guys.

When people say, " What is wrong with the Reds " ??? .....Very Simple : The Reds spend too much money on players who do not get the job done. Votto, Moose and so far add Greene now to the list due to his new Mega Bucks Contract before he has yet to have one good season.

For the 1,682nd time you rant about Votto's contract... it was a good contract. You can't claim it's not hate when it's what you rant about seemingly every other post you make. When you give a guy a long term deal, you underpay in the early years and overpay in the later years.

It's not his fault that the Reds didn't put a team around him at all for years and had a manager that thought putting the two worst non-pitcher batters in the lineup should routinely bat 1-2 ahead of Votto for most of his career rather than people who actually get on base.

The first 8 years of his 10 year deal? He hit .290/.414/.501 with 30.4 WAR and 4 seasons where he got MVP votes, he was 41% above league average offensively, he had the 9th highest wRC+ of anyone who had 2k PA during that span.

It's going to be a sad day for you when Votto goes into the Hall of Fame in 6-10 years and a whole lot of Reds fans will celebrate by remembering their happy memories of watching a great batter play his career in a Reds uniform and you'll still be fuming over his contract thinking that's why the Reds didn't win more games rather than just being a poorly run team.
