Didn't take long for this game to run off the rails!!

Hope they decide to get some pitching for next season.

Move Friedl back into the leadoff spot. DLC is not a leadoff hitter.

Agree

I wanted them to move him out of cleanup there a month ago or whatever just to take some pressure off. 6th, 2nd, hell even leadoff.

He needs to be down in the lineup now for sure.

If they did, they'd still be not hitting worth a crap.

It's a young team and the league is figuring them out, they always do.

If you are going to get upset about a ball barely skimming the edge of the bottom outside zone not being called in the first inning, you are really setting yourself up for a stressful watch. Lol

Stressful? Why would it be when it's been the norm for our pitchers this season? Pretty much expect it but doesn't change the fact that it's bs.

Well, off to work. Fairchild's at bat helped push Irvin's pitch count up near Richardson's after two innings. Then Richardson goes out and turns a potential quick inning into another 20 pitches. He piches scared, Irvin is pitching with confidence . . . he loves the fastball right on the edge of the outside of the plate.

I liked hearing about Greene, Gutierrez and Antone. I've seen enough of Cruz and his 5.11 ERA. Farmer might be sweating, also. I'd even think of sending Sims down just to shake him up a bit.

They, (the announcers) were talking about taking the white box off the screen a couple games ago. I really wish they would.

Find somebody that loves you like David Bell loves using 5 pitchers to pitch 7 innings. Lol

In his last 42 at bats (20) games he has 6 hits, 4 are HR's. He batted .130 in July so far he's batting .125 in August. In June he batted .143

I think it might be safe to say there's no more hope for him.

DLC fed a steady diet of changeups low and he doesn't seem to be able to lay off it. Swung at 4 of them well outside of the zone in that PA.

Don't think he's a leadoff hitter. A lot of Ks, not a great OBP. With his speed, he needs to recognize and accept walks when they are given to him as he can quickly put himself into scoring position for Friedl and McLain.

They did their jobs. They got us to football season. They can go back to obscurity now.

All I have to say about these Reds at this point is I’m glad football stats soon.

Yep it seems the honeymoon is over. Getting swept by the next to worst team in the NL is bad enough. But getting swept by them at home is very telling. The icing is off the cake.

Lack of viable starting pitching and young players hitting the wall affected that whole series.
