ESPN off the air

So I have Spectrum for cable, and ESPN went blank last night. Disney, who owns ESPN, and Spectrum are arguing about money and broadcast fees. Not a good time with fall sports about to start.

We got tired of Spectrum and their ever elevating cost, about 6 years ago.  We currently subscribe to Youtube TV, and it is very similar to cable.  Those disputes and service interruptions happen on whatever viewing service that you use, the good news is that they are typically short lived as customers will just hop to the next service.

You know what I got. Streamking baby! Every MF'n channel I want including full guides to other countries like Canada, Mexico, Germany, Italy, and several more (don't watch them of course because their not in English except for Canada). All PPV for free, NFL Sunday Ticket, NBA league Pass. MLB season pass or whatever. Unlimited everything. Cost, is about $250 per year. Hell, Eldora Speedway is like 8 minutes from where I work and I can even watch those races live. Heck, I even got 35 porn channels. Giggity!

I don't blame the providers, but instead blame the content owners. They are the ones (usually) increasing prices year after year. Spectrum (and most providers) try their best to not pass down the cost increase to the consumers....then shit like this happens.

What will eventually happen is they'll come to an agreement and the consumer will end up covering the cost somehow.

We have Fubo. We got it because they carry Bally Sports, therefore Reds games. It's not bad.

With the writer/actor's strikes eliminating new content everywhere else, there won't be much else to watch this fall, so people will not be willing to go without for long.  The Mouse has the cable provider over a barrel on this one.

I have the ESPN+ App. I love it. I'm a big fan of International Sports: Soccer, F1, ect..and the App is the only way to go.

I pay about $69/month for Hulu and I get the Disney+/ESPN+ bundle for that price. The ONLY this I don't gey is Bally.

Why so much? My bundle for those 3 is like $20/month (no ads on Hulu & Disney).

I'm forced to use Spectrum here at the Retirement Home and no ESPN. Oh well, watching other channels. Hope we get it back by MNF.

Except for football games, I never watch ESPN. The strike is gonna make things suck. I’m one of those who still likes network sitcoms. I imagine the strike also affects all the shows on streaming services like Netflix and Hulu etc.
