1988 Bengals.
No huddle offense, 12-4 record, AFC champions, QB won the MVP, and the Ickey Shuffle.

Boomertown.

If we leave out the teams that made it to the Super Bowl, I'd say 2005.
The O-line was awesome, top 3 QB, Best WR group in the league.

I'd argue the '81 and '82 Bengals were more well rounded teams than the '88 squad, though that was probably my favorite team of all time. They were also really good in the mid 70s, but the Dolphins, Raiders, and Steelers were legendary unfortunately.

Have to go with 81, already has 4 Ring of honors from that team, most balanced team.. had a terrible 1st half with 49ers, outplayed them but were killed with turnovers...

How about that 1975 team.??

2021 Cincinnati Bengals. If we have our crappy 1st stringers playing Oline we win.

Many young fans have little clue of how dominant Steelers were and how hard it was to just make the playoffs to even have a SB chance in 70s especially with only 1 WC team making it a year. Think about today 7 of 16 teams make playoffs back in mid 70s to 80s was 4 out of 14, so 44% chance now to 29% then

It's probably 1988, I agree with the posters above. The team was so well rounded, Boomer put up arguably the best season in Bengals QB history. It's hard to not say them.

Hard for me to choose between ‘88 and ‘01.
If Boomer was healthy or if they don’t drop that Int in the end zone they would have won it. 2021 if they give the QB a second more I think they win (Chase is still the man). I wish Burrow would have just chucked up a prayer for Chase a step or two earlier… |
