Correction, we're playing Sam Darnold.

I sure did assume this meant Burrow was injured for about 5 seconds.

He has days to get out of concussion protocol. He seemed fine and had no signs during their game at Vikings.

I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

Schefter saying he is unlikely to play.

I don't think he'll play. The NFL is very careful about head injuries. The Bengals even contributed to the increased caution by blasting Tua to Pluto.

49ers just win by a little less.

No Deebo, now likely no Brock.
Put heavy focus on the RB(s) and force Darnold to make throws to Kittle and Aiyuk.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

I don’t think this changes the game too much, don’t see a huge drop off between Purdy and Darnold. Darnold may be a little rusty though so that could help us.

Do that and we win IMO.

Kyle Shanahan's system seems to be conducive to any QB. Having said that; Darnold really sucks.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

Really? You don’t think there is a bigger difference between Brock Purdy and Sam “INT” Darnold?

I think they're quite similar

Too bad it isn’t Brandon Allen. I don’t think even the Bengals’ ability to win backups starting gigs can compensate for the pure suck of Brandon Allen.

Literally the same thing I told my friends in our group chat when one said he said he was happy about it!

Hilarious

I did mention that we're breaking all the curses with Burrow though!

I could be wrong but by most metrics I’ve seen Purdy is a top 15 QB if not top 10. That being said no matter who is at QB, CMC is a threat to go off at any time so our run D had better show up with some fire and intensity.

Not completely discounting Purdy, but we've seen Jimmy G and CJ Beathard both play at a decently high level in SF in his system. When he was the OC in Atlanta, Matt Ryan was an MVP. When he was in DC he had RG3 look amazing as a rookie Pro Bowler. When he was in Houston, he had Matt Schaub lead the league in passing yards and was a Pro Bowler with a career high of QB Rating.

There's just too many instances of okay QBs becoming Pro Bowlers in Shanahan's system.
