***Week 10 GameDay Thread - Texans @ Bengals***
(11-12-2023, 06:27 PM)TheFan Wrote: Burrow didn't have many "Burrows best" today lol He was off on a lot as a big of a contributor to the loss as anyone.

It was really just the picks. He was good for 350, 2 TD’s (should have been 3), and 90+ passer rating.

The picks were back breakers though.

isnt this how the defense works? bend, dont break, force turnovers. Paired with this offense, thats how you get deep playoff runs

Burrow's 2 picks + Mixon sucking and a Boyd dropped touchdown pass is what killed them. This was a similar defensive performance they put on against San Fran

Don’t blame Tyler Boyd. This loss is on the entire team and coaches.

That's his only thing he has. Ignores the pervious 50 plays calls. Hurts too much that we got forced into a 3rd and goal from the freaking 13 yard line by the previous calls.

first 100 yard game for the texans all season, rung up by a 3rd string RB

Our regular run game is pretty ass and the draw plays since Burrow's calf has healed have been very effective. Might be our best run play lol. Makes sense to run your best run play when your in a situation where running has a huge benefit. Espeically when you can just dial up a perfect play on third down  Yeah

You’re second and goal on the 14. You don’t get to worry about making them burn TOs. The fact that they still should have had a TD on third down doesn’t make that call any less stupid

8 or 9 wins, that’s all I see. They are too inconsistent on offense and defense to be any one, when they need a win

So disappointed in todays effort. You can’t let this team come in and beat you at home.
Is Texans with their last place schedule are playoff bound. They will get crushed vs a really good team in the post season but good step for them. This was a big loss for the Bengals today. I think it may be over…hope I am wrong but a different team will need to show up vs a pissed off Ravens team on Th.
Are the Ravens really going to lose two home games in a row? That seems unlikely.

It was everyone, let's be honest. Defence gave up almost 550 yards, Burrow threw two bad picks at bad times, run game non-existent, playcalling managed to produce no offence for quite a long time after the opening drive.... the only guy who really had a game was the guy with a bad back.

Just an awful performance all over the shop. We're pretty fortunate that was only a 3-point game.

We had our chance the last 2 years.  We missed both oppurtunities.

They broke. So no.

it's on Boyd and the offense. The defense bent but didnt fully break. Plus they caused turnovers

Burrow had 2 turnovers

Can someone tell me how Lou is any different than Bresnahan? With his bend but don’t break style of defense and him relying very heavily on an opportunistic defense doesn’t bode well for us in close games. 3rd down percentage is absolutely atrocious.

Good to great defensive coordinators know how to draft guys to compliment their brand of defense. They can cycle guys in and out and consistently have top 10 ranked units. Lou hasn’t done any of this and his style of defense keeps the offense off the field for large chunks of time. Undisciplined and uninspiring.

He had a few other missed throws too or just poor decisions. He obviously played well enough to win but the two picks were as big of a reason we lost as anything. The whole team in general was bad today outside of a few splash plays. The Dline was nonexistent, Oline was dominated all game, everyone else was average at best.

Defense still gave up 30. That’s breaking.

Then "Idiot Play #3" was an absolute perfect play call that got a wide open receiver and time for Burrow to throw a dime. Plently to blame Zac for, but that sequence was not it. Boyd catches that and we all celebrate. Or we tackle Brown on the last play to force a 50+ yarder instead and we probably go to OT.

Even with the Mixon sucks thing, he averaged 4.2 per carry. It was first and goal at the 7. Two runs should be a TD, but we were in shotgun each time. By the way, I thought that were were done with doing that all the time now. At least play action to Mixon and see what is there.

take away boyds 64 yard catch and run and it ends a whole lot sooner...

356 yards in the air and another 188 on the ground is a complete and total collapse on defense
