Records are records. Results are results. What are you talking about? Bill Belichick got fired after his fifth season. Zac did not. In his first five seasons Bill had no conference titles or SB appearances. Zac had 1 and 1. We are comparing the trajectory. Are you on Pluto or Mars?

Why do you say that?  We know he has when the helmet stopped working.  Sure he has audibles and the rpo's are his in-play decision, but he hasnt begun calling his own plays and Im not sure he will any time soon.  So many play calls are used to set up other things later in the game, that is a lot to put on the QB.

Zac has said he sends a couple plays to Burrow in the huddle and Joe picks which play to run based on what the defense shows. So, you could argue that Burrow calls his own plays ... kind of.

Nobody said that.  It was being suggested that it could be argued that Browning was picking the better of the plays sent in from Taylor.  However, we don't know if Browning received a selection of plays, like Burrow does, or if Browning was simply running THE play sent in with a few audible options.

Maybe Burrow has too much control. That is what I took out of it. That's what many took away from the Browning run.

Which means maybe Burrow isn't a great play caller after all.

We can't eat our cake and have it too. They need to reign in some of that leash they've given Burrow. You don't do that if he is making great play calls.

Personally, I think that Zac and company saw in the first Pittsburgh game that Browning out of the gun was not even remotely capable of running the spread like Burrow does.  The transition to mostly under Center was something that most teams did not have a lot of footage of the Bengals, let along Jake Browning running.  Sure, Browning was able to get the team to rally with him, and they reeled off a few wins to keep the season interesting.  However, against tougher defenses like KC and Baltimore, the Browning led offense just had no answer.
